AMAZING! Perfect place to relax and unwind! I had a lovely four days here. Cabin is well maintained, has a full service kitchen with lots and pans, cutlery even cookie sheets for cooking! A kettle and coffe machine, washer and dryer which came in super handy with all the hiking and boating we did. The best part and such a handy little gadget was the boot warmer right by the front door! The cabin can accommodate a big group. There are three rooms within one cabin with two beds and their own bathroom each which is super great of a family or big group are travelling together. I really liked the red porch chairs and hot tub (sadly didn’t get to use the hot tub because of covid) the beds are comfy and there’s enough pre chopped fire wood to keep you going for days. Staff were super responsive by email and because we came at a weird time of year and also during the pandemic we were the only ones on site. These cabins were waaaaaay more well maintained, quaint and all around 100% better as well as good value for the dollar and I would say here again a million times over - I can tell you they are a million times better than the Harrison Hot Springs Cabins (who charge a lot more $$) Also, this would be a great venue to get married at!! Close to the lakes and a lot of the trails if you...
Read moreVisited last Winter for a planned single day heli-ski as an add on. Actually never got to heli-ski because of the poorly run reservation system and the disorganization at Wiegele; but I did spend a day in the lodge while my buddy was luckily added on to a chopper for what he described as mediocre heli-boarding. I wrote a long letter to Wiegele, hoping, at least for an apology for a two hour drive, their systems reservation failures, and a wasted ski day, but they never replied, or just as likely the reply got lost in their system. That attitude, or disorganization, fits with the general vibe we got starting with our arrival in the early am, at the appointed time, per their instructions, to the clueless, albeit friendly enough desk staff, and the mostly rude or uninterested guides we encountered while we tried to sort out our reservation. The lodge is bland as heli-ski lodges go, the place disorganized, the scenery not so good compared to most of B.C., the costs high, most of the guides unhelpful, and the heli-skiing certainly not top notch compared to other operators and locations I've experienced over 25 years of heli-skiing. They do have a nice, but expensive, ski and board shop on the premises which accounts for the two...
Read moreStayed here in early Sept. During winters, they are only open to Heli skiers and those taking helicopter tours. Summer and fall, they operate as a motel. Nice rooms, lovely setting. Great trails for a walk. The cabins are the perfect setup for a family or a group of friends. Four bedrooms, 2 upsatirs two downstairs, with two beds each, that all share a common large living area via locking doors that open from the bedrooms to a, large living room with wood fireplace, dining room, and kitchen. You can cook your own food easily.
Only down side is there are a lot of trains that pass close by and whistle. It didn't bother us but light sleepers might want to bring ear plugs. Trains are the reason for the 3 stars on location.
Place is very clean, well maintained and very upscale for this part of the province. Far classier than you will find anywhere within 250 klms.
On-site restaurant is closed outside ski season. Only one restaurant in town, the Grill, but the food is excellent and a very good selection on the menu. Would...
