The hotel was nice enough, and pet friendly, but there were issues with the elevator breaking down shortly after we arrived and it remained inoperable for the entire weekend. We were in town for a baseball tournament, so we were in and out quite often which led to many trips up and down the stairs to our 4th floor room. This was tiring, especially for my wife who had just recently been put on heart medication. I could not imagine being elderly and having to carry baggage up and down multiple levels. We also found the bedding in the pullout sofa bed to be dirty, so we had to request some new/clean bedding... which oddly enough we had to retrieve from the front desk (no room service to deliver these - nor clean towels as we had to retrieve them from a "stocked table" of misc. toiletries near the front desk). The area IMMEDIATELY outside the main entrance was being used for smoking/vaping, including by staff. More often than not when we had to enter/leave the building we had to walk through disgusting smoke/vape. This area should be well removed from any access point to the hotel. And although not entirely surprising, but somewhat disappointing, the restaurant would not allow pets on their outside dining area/patio. Most restaurants now are pet friendly for exterior dining - although this particular restaurant did not have and open entrance from the outside (just a half wall), so we would have to walk through the restaurant to access the patio (unless our dog "jumped" the half wall - which she could have). It would be nice if they allowed them as we couldn't leave our dog in the room alone. On a positive note though, we found the staff to be very helpful and courteous. They even allowed our baseball team to use the vacant breakfast area to gather for a team pizza dinner...
Read moreThe staff the first night and day were wonderful. The morning of checkout as I was loading my vehicle the Manager Micheline came outside yelling I need to get someone to take care of my dog that she was barking. I explained I was loading the car and were going to leave shortly. Myself and my young daughter were on this trip with our dog Zella. We got the luggage in the car went in to get continental bkft for the trip and the manager comes back telling me to get my dog now and put it in the car. I said no, it's hot I can't leave her in the car. I said I am one person and can not do both, I'm just grabbing a snack for the road were all packed and will grab her. She said to get her now. So I said I'll leave the food on the counter (bread treat and yogurts) and get food at a diner and get my dog and leave that minute if she refunds me. She said yes. We went to get our dog, stood in front of the room and there was no barking. We took her to ghe car and came back in for the refund. She stated it was paid third party so she could not do it right now. I asked for a written confirmation. She wrote on my bill "to be reimbursed" - Micheline. The maintenance man made a comment about my parenting and I told him to shut up. Micheline stated to have a good day and I stated thank you, you as well. There was no damage to the room, I made the bed the first morning and left a tip for...
Read moreWe had booked the room in Campbellton through the CAA Tour Book and were shocked by the condition of all the wooden furniture in our room. There seemed to be a manufacturing problem which resulted in a worn and scraped surface on all the furniture. I did not want to put any of my possessions on the furniture as it appeared dirty. In addition, the phone in the room was very dirty with built up grime on the surface. The rest of the room was clean but the problem with the furniture was a turn off. Since the rest of the rooms in the hotel all had this furniture, changing rooms would not have solved this problem. Upgrading the rooms to replace the wooden furniture would be expensive but this is a management decision that needs to be considered as the deterioration of the finish is ongoing and very noticeable to guests. The other public locations in the hotel were well maintained and...
