I don't often stay at best westerns, as they can be quite pricy, but the place I used to stay at in dauphin had gone down hill, since it sold. This property is quite new, so of course it's very clean. It's really nice. The rooms are a good size, and well appointed. There is a nice terrace kind of thing on one end of the building where you can bbq, and sit by a fire, though it's a gas fire pit, and I believe the gas was empty. We just wanted to try it, but didn't really have any use for it. It's mostly decorative, believe, like an electric fireplace. Looks nice though, and there are plenty of chairs and tables around. We got kitchen rooms, which were fairly well appointed and the bed was extremely comfortable. I almost just stayed in it, instead of going to work ;) The layout of the light switches seemed a bit off to north my co worker and I, but that's just an observation, not a complaint. The tv was a nice size and there are plenty of plug ins for your devices. The Internet download speed is quite good, but upload is much, much less, which can make sending your daily reports and data a bit slower. It's not awful, but just seems like it could more closely match the d/l speed. Having said that, it's still the fastest in town, from my experience, and I've been to pretty much every place in town. You can get a hot breakfast sandwich here, and I think it's home - made. Not like the jimmy Dean heat and eat thing you get at many places. Was more like an a and w breakfast sandwich. They also have a host of other items available for breakfast, but a hot sandwich and juice was all I could hope for. It's on the edge of town, but so are a host of major businesses, so the location is good. You can walk to nearly anything you need in five mins. I enjoyed my stay and world return of I could continue to get the rate I got, though I imagine if the plandemic ever ends, it will get much busier, and prices will increase. Front desk staff are friendly and accommodating.

Staff are mostly great, rooms are nice and large. Breakfast is good, and some days they even have an omelette station, and the omelette was great. While we were there, there were 4 hockey teams. The adults were partying in the hallways, and the kids were playing and yelling in the hallways until 10 PM. I talked to the front desk about it and they refused to take action. They said they'd only be there to eat their food as a group. They hung out and drank in the hallway until exactly 10 PM. I am usually happy to hear kids having fun. I'm not one of those grumpy old people that thinks they should be quiet all the time, but this was too much, too late. The parents were as bad as the kids. When I asked them to take it inside the rooms and explained that I worked the next day, they mocked me. To put in perspective the noise level on my last stay, my noise cancelling headphones could not block the sound of the kids screaming in the halls. They pounded on the floor above me so hard, that an access panel fell down in my bathroom. The bottom line is that this is a great newer property that is well maintained with great staff. However, if you are here for work, and need rest, this is not the place to be in the winter. The owners/managers care more about the big/quick bucks from the hockey teams, thank they do about loyal customers that stay on a regular basis. This is evident from the tiny little sign they post in the front when these teams are in town. The sign looks like it's made deliberately small, so the hotel can say they posted it. I won't stay again during the hockey season, that's for sure, but if you're an inconsiderate loser hockey parent who wants to party in the hallways and let your kids run around unsupervised, you're going to love it here! The noise policy starts at 10 PM, and anything goes until that time.

THE GOOD: We stayed here for 3 days and we liked the place. The hotel has free breakfast (if you don't mind repeat servings), beautiful pool with slide and it's also fairly new and clean. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. A lot of reminders about social distancing and sanitizers around high traffic areas. THE NOT SO BAD: I think they are understaffed, I tried calling the front desk on different times but no one answered. I can't find any housekeeping staff to request for clean towels and toiletries. There is only one person who serves breakfast and prepares it. The pool towels are not refilled on time and our room was not serviced even after putting the sign up. And if you google Best Western Dauphin, you will get 2 results (one on main street and this) which is confusing. But overall, I would totally recommend this hotel to anyone if ever you plan to spend time in Dauphin.

This hotel is new and has nice curb appeal, with irrigated lawns and a clean parking lot. There is also a nice sitting area to the west of the building with a BBQ.

Check-in was ok. The front desk person answered all of my questions but did not offer any common check-in information such as breakfast times, wifi password, and pool hours. The lobby is beautiful and spotless! I think there was someone in the lobby/foyer cleaning every time I went through.

The room was spacious, well laid-out, and very clean. The linens and towels were perfect. There was a large HD TV that had a good selection of channels. The room was also very quiet. We did not hear other guests or the elevator, despite the hotel being very busy and our room near the lift.

Breakfast was great. The selection and quality of the food was definetly above-average for a hotel. The man caring for guests at breakfast was professional, friendly, and kept the food trays stocked and coffee fresh. He obviously took pride in his work.

My only real issue with the hotel was the pool area. The pool and waterside itself are very nice. However, there was hair EVERYWHERE. It was gross. In the water, on the floor, up the stairs to the waterside, ect. It was bad the evening we went for a swim, and it had not been cleaned when we went back the...
