Hands down, the best hotel in Hanna. I stayed there for 10 months while working in the area in 2024. The staff are amazing, and always willing to go that extra mile. Rooms are clean, and well maintained. The free breakfast is very good, and has a lot of variety compared to most. I think its supposed to start at 5am, but made concessions for us as we had to be at work then, so everything was ready to go at 4:15-4:30. Thanks Dakota! ;-) Pet friendly, and lots of parking. During the summer months there is a little campground, (full hookups), beside the hotel that is also run by Can Alta. I had a few co workers staying there, and they had nothing but good things to say. Grounds were always well maintained. Just about forgot, there is a big hot tub, gym, and a steam room. I regularly used the hot tub, and found it to be clean and well maintained. Thanks Scotty! The only complaint I would have is the internet service is absolutely terrible. Using WIFI or directly plugged in, the highest speed I was able to get was less than 10mbps. If not familiar with that, thats about the equivalent of dial up internet in the mid 1990's. It moves at the speed of smell basically. Over my 10 months there, I was in 4 different rooms in different locations in the hotel, including the 2nd floor when I first arrived, and it was consistent throughout. Thanks to all for making a long 10 months, and making me feel at home. Thanks Mar and Juanita!

Only 3 stars because this is the only hotel out of many that I have been to where they expect you to pay extra for a toothbrush if you forgot yours. Every other hotel that we've asked at before had them provided for free , but here they ask you to buy one from their 'store'. Considering the room is 200+ per night, you'd think they'd provide a $2 item . The staff in the breakfast room are very friendly and that was a good experience. There is also no pool. One of the websites for booking says there is a pool, but there is not. It is a hot tub. Our room also had some pretty nice water damage on the ceiling above the bed. At 9 am housekeeping comes in your room when checkout isn't until 11 am. Not a nice way to wake up and certainly doesn't make you feel very safe when they just kinda walk in while you are sleeping. Twice now there has been dirty towels hung in the bathroom and a dirty pillowcase.

We checked in and The evening staff was amazing. She was very friendly and very accommodating. At breakfast Mona (kitchen staff) made a very rude and loud comment. A guest left their table, they had neatly stacked their dishes, she loudly commented “oh don’t worry, I’ll clean up your dishes. Do you think I have nothing better to do, than clean up after you!” I appreciate that many of the guests stay there frequently, but many people do not. Someone needs to explain to her that guests are not expected to clean up after a meal. If we did, she wouldn’t have a job. Over all the motel was great. All remaining staff were very helpful and friendly. I have attached a photo of a very dirty blanket that was on the bed. Great motel overall, some staff need more training.

I am a business professional, and I travel quite often throughout Western Canada - the Canalta Hanna in Alberta was by far the worst accommodation I've had. At check-in, I was first given a room on the second floor accessible only by stairs, which was soon rectified with a first floor room after I indicated that I had a lot of materials to haul to my room - brownie points. When I walked into my first room (key word - first), I was met by a room that was either still not made up, or still had people staying in it, the mess was too great so I wasn't sure. I returned to the desk to ask for another room - when I walked into my 2nd room I went to put my food in fridge - Had to first take out all the bad food that had not been cleaned out from the fridge, along with the rest of the kitchenette. Fine, I proceeded to bring my car by the side door to the hotel right by my room, room which they had given me so I could easily bring in all of my materials, and access my vehicle quicker and easier - more brownie points. When I tried entering the building through said side door, of course my key wouldn't open it. I went back around to the front desk and the staff cordially escorted me right back to the side door to make sure I was telling the truth. They then tried opening the side door with my key which of course didn't work, proceeded to then open it with their key, and followed by letting me know the battery in the door must be dead .. which is why their key could still open it .... ok. All would've been slightly ok if they didn't act as though everything so far was my fault - I was just having a bad day ... I think they're having a bad year! The rest of my stay was nicely complemented by construction workers working away on the roof which you would think is far enough away when you're on the main floor ... false! All this was just extremely hard to process with the housekeeping and service awards, not one but multiple, proudly displayed at the front desk ... Am thinking hmmm...

I am here for about a year+ for work related, and most of the time I complained about the cleaning and bed making. But not changes , I always being told you «  you have to understand the staff on first floor are different with 2 floor , 1 st floor are too old and sometimes are tired » excuse that doesn’t make sense to me, . If they are old hire new ones. housekeeping not absolutely doing a good job. mostly on first floor, most of the towels and pillows and pillows cases are visibly stained. after a week of no room service but you will find housekeeping just enter and change towels without making bed nor mopping or vacuuming. bathroom tap have buildup calcium around and housekeeping don’t bother cleaning up, very disgusting , i wish i could upload the videos. Housekeeping departments have to be trained or hire new crew capable to perform proper services to the clients. Wifi sucks most of the time unable to do work stuff do to bad Wifi, and ends up using my cellular data. TV most the channels are blurry old fashion.i dont even open TV, need to be updated, My company paying 200$/ night I deserve better service. I don’t attend breakfast most of the time because of too salty, but I don’t about the breakfast, the only I am requesting at least I can be getting a good room service. Because I am a VIP client now, but not at all still getting same trouble over and over. Hope someone will make changes. Looks like family business...
