We booked a room at this hotel 2 weeks in advanced based on the fact that a number of websites showed that rollaways were available and had included this request in our booking comments. Upon check- in we were told that they did not have roll always which would have been nice to know before we arrived. Luckily we had an air bed with us so one of our teens ended up keeping on the floor. The afternoon/evening desk staff could definitely take some customer service tips from the morning shift desk staff. The room (#204) had 2 queens (max 4 occupancy) but only had towel sets for 3 people. The front desk was able to provide us with an additional bath towel. There is lots of feed back from hotel mngt. regarding the new beds in the hotel, however it would have been nice if they had also made the same investment in bedding for these new beds. Just mattress toppers not full mattress protectors (to keep any unwanted visitors away) and bottom sheets that fitted the deep mattress. Only flat sheets were used and these were too small for these deep mattresses to be tucked and pinned in under the mattress . Through out the night we thought we were going a little crazy hearing music coming from our bathroom. In the morning we finally determined that this was music being played in the lobby by speakers against our bathroom wall. Again were were looking forward to breakfast that had many good reviews, but upon arriving only 15 minutes after opening we found that the juice dispenser was out of order, as was the yoghurt machine. There was only one jug of milk available to share between the coffee/tea station and cereal station and this was empty. No fresh fruit and the baked goods section was bare. This was the third BW we had stayed in during our BC/ Alberta road trip as we are points collectors and were disappointed by the lack of consistency in quality between them. BW will not be our first choice in hotels...
Read moreGreat continental breakfast! Sausages, scrambled eggs, pancakes, fruit, yogurt, cereal, toast, coffee, tea, juice etc! Cute breakfast area to sit and eat. The lobby also has a great coffee machine, free of charge for guests of the hotel. Pool was a little on the cold spot but a popular hangout spot in the hotel amongst the guests. There is a lazy river advertised online, but we could not figure out how to turn it on. After about 40 minutes in the pool and several other hotel guests going us, we noticed it turned on. I'm not sure if someone asked the front desk, as we definetly did not. The hot tub was a good tempature and overall both the pool & pool deck were clean. We shared shared a 2 bedroom queen room and were pleasantly surprised with how comfortable the beds were. Just soft enough with plenty of pillows and great comforters! The layout was nice and included a mini fridge and an in room coffee machine. The bathroom, like any hotel bathroom, was awkwardly laid out for as long as the door was open. Once the door was closed, the bathroom felt quite spacious. Plenty of parking but in a bit of a "odd ball" location. It is close to sahali mall which includes places like Bold Italian Eatery, Value Village, save on foods, with Tim Hortons and Superstore just across the street from the mall. If you are looking for a hotel close to the hospital, this would fit those guidelines however keep in mind its a steep walk back to the hotel from the hospital or anything downtown. Turning left coming down the hill and into the parking lot can be a bit time consuming depending on time of day as there is no light to follow to turn in so you are just waiting for the perfect break in traffic. The other gripe I hold is the quality of luggage carts. I'm hoping we just got the janky cart and the others were of sturdier quality but it made for a...
Read moreStayed at this hotel Sunday July 13th, 2025.||After driving from Edmonton we got checked in and went to the pool/hot tub. The pool was slimy and unsafe to enter so we stuck to a soak in the hot tub. We went to shower in our room after and found the shower walls were covered in hair from a previous guest. I raised this with the front desk and we were given a new room. After moving our luggage I gave the bathroom a check and found the tub was full of brown flecks and smears.||I provided videos of both to the two women working the front desk. Screenhots attached from the videos. These were two different rooms…||We were moved to a third room that they had checked before moving us. In the morning we got up and went for a shower only to find the shower products were empty. We told the man working the desk on Monday morning that our room was again not properly made up. He assured us that we would hear from a manager and that something would be done. We have not been contacted except by automated message thanking us for staying and that holds on our card may take a week to be removed.||The pillow cases on one of the two beds were not clean in our last room. The hallway on the third floor was littered with clear plastic wrappers and other trash.||We stayed at numerous other hotels on our trip and this was an upsetting way to end the vacation. We chose this hotel as it appeared to be a nicer option and we expected to have my mother with us for the drive back to Victoria. Grateful she wasn’t there to experience this with us.||I would skip this hotel and stay somewhere else the next time I drive to/from Alberta to visit friends and family.||A shameful showing to have been provided three rooms, none of which were properly cleaned, and be invited to leave a...
