TENT CAMPERS WARNING. We booked this “campsite” having never been to Lion’s head and we did not know the area well. We were a little suspicious when we realized that the site was in the middle of town, but did not expect what we saw when we got there. If you are used to provincial parks or really any other campground for tenting, this is NOT the space for you. Firstly, it is hardly a campground, and more of a stretch of lawn that mostly holds tightly packed trailers. There was no camp store that we could see or anything similar, we didn’t even know where we could buy firewood. It’s possible this was available at the marina but we didn’t make it that far. We drove down the lawn and back and finally realized our “campsite” was just a slice of lawn the end of the lane, next to a construction style fence that separated it from the public beach. You could see in the backyards of people who lived on the street in front of it. Another “tent site” we took a picture of was separated from someone’s yard by a chain link fence. The sites had fire pits and picnic tables, but no privacy whatsoever, and no real indication even of where your site ended and the next one started. We were actually so shocked and disappointed that we ended up driving out of town and calling around to nearby campgrounds to see if we could get a last minute site elsewhere. For backpackers who just need a place to sleep after hiking the trail, maybe this place makes sense. If you are like us and want to be able to really set up and hangout at your campsite for a few days, this is not the place for you. There are much nicer options not far out of town for a real tent camping experience. I wish we had read a review like this before we booked because there is no way we would have paid $40/night for this site if we had known. It was well worth it for us to eat the cost and pay extra to stay...

Worst campground I have ever visited. Poor excuse for a place to "get away". The people here are extremely rude and nosy. We were told over the phone before booking that we could have two cars for the first night because we were leaving late due to some of us having to work, immediately we were accosted by an awful old lady for having two cars and received a ticket the next morning. Meanwhile the supervisor failed to mention the parking (where she parks) was around the corner from our campsite! The campsites we rented for the weekend were extremely small and have no actual markings indicating where your campsite ends. One day we woke up to the supervisor talking bad about us to our neighbour, right beside our tents! It was extremely unprofessional and made us feel uncomfortable. I do not recommend anyone under 50 years old visiting this campground, they do not welcome people that are not permanent. I have visited other campgrounds and this was by far the WORST experience I have ever had. The people feed off of having something to...

well its extremely small maybe half a km with trailers everywhere possible. I stayed in a tent it a corner of the park, I was literally in 3 peoples back/side yards. I was about ten feet from the neighbor's fire pit where they sat felt like I had to be super quiet for others to not hear me. the tent area was too small. there were 3 spot lights on all nights so there was n darkness for those who like it dark to sleep, also made it hard to see the stars. waking u to angry fighting sea gulls was horrible, if any site dropped food a swarm was waiting for the slip up. on a good note the bathrooms were clean and the beach was 50 steps away. good for small kids or quiet people or if you dont mind having zero privacy. like the trailers were back to back with a tiny space for table in the front. no one said a thing to us after 11pm about our fire but I'm sure everyone was in there dwellings by then. it was $220 for 2 spots...

Typical Marina campground. Good for those looking to sleep for the night. Lots of friendly seasonal campers. No privacy whatsoever with the sites, as typical with a Marina campground. Small sites with a picnic table and fire ring on each site. Beautiful location right on the clean, soft sand beach with gorgeous views of the harbour and the light house. Many of the sites back right onto the water. The beach and bathrooms with showers are a short 2 minute walk from the back end of the campground. Clean bathrooms and a small, quieter campground. Not an ideal spot for those looking to truly camp as it is an in town campground with minimal trees but not a bad spot to be if you don't mind some chatting with the seasonal camper and a smidge of small town traffic noise. It was a perfect spot for us, who used the site as a spot to cook and sleep after exploring the local areas for the day.

We wanted a campsite near the Bruce Trail. The camp itself is not perfect, I'd go with 4 stars only (as others mentioned, the tent lots are crowded by the RVs) - but its proximity to the grocery store, coffee shops, a restaurant, even a Home&Hardware, makes it a good place. The bathrooms have a code, and are clean and with plenty of hot water. The beach is overseeing the marina and the Lion's Head bluffs - the water is crystal clear and refreshing after a ling hike. The camp itself is on the BT and 10 minutes off the Lion's Head loop (a 19 km beauty) and close to the lookout itself (a more accessible loop). You're literally in the middle of the Bruce Peninsula, within half hour access to any of the other places (including Singing Sands or Tobermory). All in all, it's a lovely place.
