Stay elsewhere. We came from Calgary to Waskesiu to camp for a week, but were chased out by a tornado warning.
Within 2 minutes of arriving, my son had a slice down his shin about 3.5 inches long. The metal bedframe was too big for the mattress and was hanging out approximately 6" - it was covered with a sheet so you couldn't see it until you walked in to it. He was bleeding and the gash is pretty nasty. We notified staff right away and we were told that they had recently switched beds out which explains the mismatched size of bed vs bedrame. No apology or any remorse though. He said he would add it to our file for the manager and mentioned a heavy discount for the issues we encountered. In the morning when we checked out, there were no messages or mention of it for the manager, of course.
3 bathroom towels were stained heavily. They were hanging on the rack openly visible.
We found a rotting banana beside the bed. Literally, there was mould growing on it.
There was a high, likely homeless person sleeping in the doorwell and when we complained about it nothing was done.
There was a lady in the lobby at 12am swearing anf yelling so loud on the phone- right in front of staff. And no one asked her to leave, she just carried on. It woke me up, and I went out to see what was happening myself.
Breakfast was terrible. The pancake machine broke down 3x when we were trying to use it. Sausages were pink. Coffee cannisters were empty.
No offer for a new room when we notified staff of these things. But they gave us a $20 discount. Im honestly thinking about calling a lawyer because of the bedframe gash on my sons leg. Apparently its only worth $20 and not even an apology. It was 100% an injury that could have been prevented by this...
Read moreI made a reservation a month before my stay. I arrived at the hotel on Friday (the day of my reservation) and there was a wedding party ahead of me (3 men) and they were also trying to check in. The clerk at the desk seemed to be having a problem with the reservation of the wedding party. The time was 3:40 in the afternoon. I asked if I was able to check in to my room and she informed me that I would not be able to check in until 4:00. I was a little upset and advised that I didn't want to actually go into my room, but get the key so I could just go into the room when I came back. She advised that this was not possible, I had to wait until 4:00. I went for a coffee and came back at 4:15 and the line up for check in was to the door. There were a LOT of problems with check in and I waited an hour and twenty minutes to check in!!! The check in clerks were not very pleasant and quite rude. My stay was for 3 nights and they provide free breakfasts to their guests via a coupon you get from the front desk, fill out and take to the restaurant. We went into the restaurant on Sunday morning and it was chaos!! The tables were all dirty and when we tried to order we were told by the waiter "I was hired yesterday with absolutely no training", needless to say the meal was not good (cold) and only part of it came and we waited 40 minutes for it. I used to stay at this hotel whenever I travelled to Prince Albert but will not be staying...
Read moreWe stayed for 2 nights,I wish I had done a bit more research on this business. We arrived on the 24th ,got out of ,the car ,it was very icy and garbage strewn about the parking lot ,The entrance had garbage and cigarette butt's everywhere. The room was just ok and could have used a good cleaning including carpets . I went in search of bottled water and was directed to a vending machine ,where bottled water was $2 :50 and pop was $4 -$5 As I made my way back to the room I saw a elevator so I took it to the second floor. On the second floor was another vending machine, I took a look ,A man was on the floor ,I called to him and asked if he was okay he mumbled. I approached the front desk asked the person if they were aware if someone was sleeping in the vending area,he said yes and that security would be by to deal with it ,the room walls paper thin from our room,we could hear the front desk The next morning my husband went to grab us coffee, children were in the dining area shoe less ,as we left I apologized to my husband for not researching our stay a little better, the parking lots and entrances are deplorable and street people are everywhere in the area .It doesn't feel like the safest place to stay and I wouldn't stay again ,This place needs some work inside and out .It was noisy Christmas night which caused our puppy some stress, if we could have drove at night ,we would have left ,very sketchy ,don't stay here ,I wouldn't...
