My first experience here. The atmosphere is awesome. That is, in my mind the perfect sports bar atmosphere. Great job on all the details, from the keg lights to all the hockey masks to the hockey stick railing. So many designs details. Great job. So on to the food: My friends ordered burgers and they said the flavor was good, a little on the dripy side. Just beware you might want to lean over your plate so you don't drip on your self.they had fries and gravy and both thought it was different, the strong sage flavor grows on them. I Ordered the 7oz steak sandwich and fries, tried the gravy. The fries were perfect. The Gravy sub par; the sage seasoning is overwhelming, while the sage make it better, too much is too much. With out the sage it would be bland. So your leaving a 50/50 split with 50 percent saying its different and the flavor grows on you, and 50 percent saying yuck. you might want try a new recipe. On to the steak. The steak was cooked perfectly, med rare, the flavor was so good, thank the cook, how ever the steak was tough like chewing rubber. I had to cut the steak. I had to butterfly the steak then cut it into small pieces and chew and chew and chew and chew and chew and chew and chew and I could not finish that small steak because my jaw was tired from chewing. I will, with out a doubt not order the steak again.
Ok this is very Kool, the cutlery, the fork handle shaped like a hockey stick. The knife handle shaped like a golf putter. However the knife is hard to handle because of how small and smooth the knife handle is, and to cut up that steak I needed a better knife handle. The service was ok. Not much else I can say. I hopeful the next experience will be better.
Please try it out for yourself I have talked to lots of people before and after my experience there and it's 60/40 split 60 good and 40 not bad, just could have...
Read moreWent to celebrate after recital. The service was slower but to be expected for a new restaurant. The drinks were good. I ordered the creamy grilled chicken Alfredo. When it arrived, there was no chicken in or on the dish. I asked the waitress and asked some of the others at the table if they saw any chicken just to confirm that I was not mistaken. She apologized and said she would get the kitchen to fire the chicken. While waiting, the other waitress messed up on a drink order at the table next to us, took them back to the bar. Figured out where it went wrong and then brought the same shots (a good 5 minutes later) back to the table. The order was incorrect and they made too many shots so gave our table some. Even though they were the same shot, the consistency in colour was not the same. Still gave it a try but we were not a fan of them, but was neat to try. The waitress came back to clear the plates on our table, looked over to my now room temperature noodles and asked they didn’t bring you your chicken? I said no. She said I will go get it right now! Came back 3 minutes later with chicken. By that time my table was ready to leave so I asked for a to go dish to take home. My brother in law was upset and said I shouldn’t have to pay for it. They charged me for the pasta and no discounts or anything were applied. I didn’t want to make waves so I just paid. The dish was good when I warmed it up at home, but it would probably have been better if I got to eat it at the table fresh. Unfortunately it was not a very great first experience for us, and now am hesitant to return as it was...
Read moreMy son wanted to try this place. Looking at the menu, I found it a little pricey. I was just going to order an appetizer, but my son insisted on me ordering a meal. I settled on a burger, fries, and side of gravy. He ordered a pasta dish. When our food came, my burger was accompanied by potato chips along with the side of gravy? I thought maybe there was a language barrier, I asked the person presenting my food if the potato chips were fries. She replied "no" and said they were out of fries since early afternoon. She asked if the potato chips were fine, I said no. She offered onion rings, I said no, I don't like onion rings. I was offered soup (not sure who eats soup with a burger, but OK), I said no. Since my son already had his meal, I just canceled my order.
I think in the future if the kitchen gets an order with an item that isn't available, it seems common sense to inform the server, or the customer directly that part of the order can't be fulfilled. You don't just substitute another item and hope they are OK with your substitution. This also gives the guest time to change their order so that everyone's meal arrives at the same-ish time, because re-ordering once the rest of your group has gotten their meals is usually a dealbreaker for most people.
I might be too old for this place, but it was also very loud. I was hoping that my order was going to come with a side of ibuprofen, or acetaminophen, because the music was very loud, which in turn required everyone there to have to...
