I received such a fantastic & warm welcome after a hard days travel getting here - much better than I could ever have hoped. Or even dreamed.
Martin, the owner, & Pilar at the front desk instantly made me feel right at home - just like they do with each &n every one of their guests.
The lodge has a lovely, relaxing ambience - and the local art work on display is authentic & inspiring - incredible photos from the gold-mining days, just before they discovered the skiing! And it's surrounded by forest, so the tranquility is absolutely luxurious. Very unique.
The room I had was so comfortable, I had trouble getting out of it for the generous & very Rams Head continental breakfast... which did set me up properly for a full day on the snow.
Then there's the lounge area, where I made new friends for life, hanging out listening to how the best runs of the day played out... Chilling to the great tunes selected by Martin over many years & savoring the vibes around the Viking coffee table. This is a beautiful thing - when the day doesn't have to end with your last run.
As for having a hot tub in the forest, wow. If you're lucky enough to grab it alone - you'll be easily convinced its just you, the trees & the hot tub out there in the BC wilderness...
If you want the AUTHENTIC FEEL OF A SKI LODGE, accommodating characters from the ski world from far & near, & listen to the unlimited ski stories from people not afraid to seek out the best snow - then the Rams Head is a...
Read moreThis multi level, many rooms B&B is full of character and for our 5 night stay, lovely guests ranging from couples like us, to families, to singles. Our walk to the slopes was extremely easy. The entrance room to leave skis then walk into a furnished basement with a pool table where boots dried each night was perfect. The living area where a fulfilling buffet breakfast is laid out includes a comfy couch and chairs and a beautiful fire each morning and evening. One night we brought pizza back and watched old Warren Miller ski movies with other guests. Up another level where most rooms are, ours was cozy in size so my morning yoga was in the walk-in basement and to myself less a curious cat. But the dressers was sufficient and a bar size fridge and private bath is a plus for us. Bed was quite comfortable. Hot water for showers. The place was quiet each evening by 10pm latest. Hot tub and sauna- what more do you need? The Host, Martin, is pleasant and ensures his guests are content. He even builds fires outside which the young...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed 3 nights here in July. We arrived very late and tired after a 10 hour drive so did not see much. The big king bed was very comfortable and the balcony is a nice touch. There is a mini fridge in the room. Mark prepared a lovely breakfast consisting of fresh berries yogurt, hard boiled eggs, assortments of breads, granolas, cereals and good coffee. The Inn is filled with quirky memorabilia, so fun to look at. The lounge area with fireplace and great vintage seating is inviting with games, puzzles, guitar etc. Hank the resident doggo and Mel Gibson the resident kittie add to the feeling of homeiness. Mark has created a magical meadow in the forest behind the Inn complete with a funky Saloon. He shared a fabulous bottle of wine with us and told us tales in this unforgettable setting. If you are looking for impeccable cleanliness, modern furniture and sterile environment you’d be better off at the Josie I wondered the next morning if it was a dream. If you are looking for a unique experience, I would highly recommend...
