I was extremely dissatisfied with my stay.
In the hotel room: the chair and two stools were falling apart in pieces, the jets in the jacuzzi tub in the room were absolutely disgusting and ejecting a dirty white film in the bubbles that made me and my partner itchy, the Jacuzzi tub taps were broken and twisted, and the sealant in the tub had completely come off, there were no robes for us like there were in the pictures, there was only one pod of coffee set out for the two of us, there was a random extra remote set out for a "star projector" that was nowhere to be found, and my special request on the payment page was entirely ignored with no communication. One of the caps on the shampoo and conditioner bottles in the dispensers in the shower were on, so I had to fix that myself. The panel on the air conditioner had fallen off and was just sitting on the floor when we came into the room, so I put it back on.
The state of the hotel pool: very dismal. The flooring needs replaced as it is eroding from the water and is painful to walk on due to its unevenness. The stairs to the slide are in a state of disrepair as well. The bottom of the pool was very dirty, I wonder if we just happened to be there on cleaning day? There were staff wandering in and out and staring at us in the pool, so maybe we were in there while they were hoping to clean. I am unsure. There was lots of debris in the pool. I will say, the privacy of the pool was nice since there was no one else there and the temperature of the pool was perfect. It was very warm, which was extremely delightful this time of year.
The worst poor part of the experience was the customer service: we requested a late check-out time at the time of booking, 1pm and a $25 fee was added to my bill for it, which was extremely helpful for us due to our scheduling situation. Between 11am and 1pm we were harassed several times by staff members coming to our room and asking us in the hall about not being checked out yet. Even receiving a phone call to the room from the front desk which would have woken us if we were attempting to sleep in. The lady argued with me, telling me that there was no late check out pre-purchased on my bill and that I would be subject to additional fees since we were late. They also cut off our wifi access! When I went down to the front desk, I showed them my receipt with the late check out on it and the man apologized and said it hadn't come up on their system, but did nothing to offer any sort of mediation to the experience we had.
When I was booking a hotel for my boyfriend and my anniversary, I was trying to decide between here, Park Town, the Sheraton, or the Bessborough, and I sincerely wish I hadn't chosen here. I stayed here about eight years ago and had a wonderful experience, but it seems they have not kept anything updated during that time.
I paid around $250 for the night. My experience was shocking for that price.
I do not think I will be staying here again and I would not recommend it to anyone I...
Read moreGreat location, mediocre hotel. We stayed here for a wedding and unfortunately this hotel does not hold up to the ratings. Our room was not cleaned properly before our arrival and when we made a request to have it attended to on the first day, the request fell on deaf ears and no one attended to the room or checked in with us again. For a "newer hotel" it feels like they have done the bare minimum to keep up with maintenance. Our room had a broken light, mold in the shampoo dispensers, a broken towel hanger and a shower curtain desperately needing replaced. Our kitchenette was spacious and allowed for us to set up our pack n play, but we found the beds had thin sheets and uncomfortable pillows. The bathroom has one small hook to hang towels and did not have a makeup mirror like most properties. We also found there to be a lot of noise, everytime we used the washroom you could hear the pipes running from other rooms and sitting in the evening you could hear noise (people talking, showers running, tvs) from several rooms around us. The hotel did not have a travel crib to offer, but did offer a pack n play so we chose to bring our own from home as we knew it was safe to use. The continental breakfast food wasn't great, but the staff were friendly and helpful. All of the hot foods were frozen and warmed in an oven before putting into a hot plate. The potatoes and sausages felt undercooked. We used the pool, but could tell it was in need a of a deep cleaning and some repairs as the paint and deck coating were starting to peel. Overall, for the price per night, we felt that we overpaid for a very cheap...
Read moreWe’ve stayed at this location quite a few times over the years. Have never had any complaints until now. I’m not an overly picky person, however when you’re paying $200+ a night for a room it should be spotless. We stayed in the theme room don’t even bother. Garbage under the bunks, front desk staff came and remedied it right away. Also asked for the controllers for the gaming system which was brought up by front desk the container had 1 controller and the cord for the other controller. Had that been the only issue I wouldn’t be upset however after an evening out for supper and some shopping we return to our room to crawl into bed. Lifting the top sheet we find crud/boogers all over the duvet, after asking for clean bedding the wrong size of fitted sheets were brought up not once but 4x finally I gave up and used top sheets as bottom fitted sheets and an hour later could finally crawl into bed. Only to discover the nightstand had something sticky all over it, get up and wiped that clean. The pull out on the couch had children’s eraser in it again questioning if the sheets had been changed on the pull out. We changed them ourselves. Honestly if I hadn’t been so tired I would’ve just packed up and found another hotel but find a room on a weekend to accommodate a family of 5. The bunk bed should be replaced as it is incredibly wobbly I would not trust a bigger child to sleep on the top bunk. At check out I did mention all the issues and got a whole $25 off of a two night stay. Whoopie… we will not be staying here again I don’t pay $200+ a night only to have to clean someone else’s mess and...
