I had an extremely disappointing experience at this restaurant, and I feel compelled to share my frustration so others can avoid the same. A few months ago, we had a bad experience here, and they promised us credit to make up for it. However, when we tried to use it for our latest order, they stalled and told us we needed to wait 2-3 more days for approval from the manager. Completely unprofessional and dishonest. As for the food, it was absolutely terrible. We ordered Paneer Tikka Masala and specifically requested Indian spice levels, but what we received was inedible. The spice level was so extreme that we couldn’t even take a single bite! It felt like they were taking revenge for our previous complaints rather than trying to make things right. This isn’t the first time this place has failed us, and now I can confidently say it will be the last. Their service is unresponsive, their promises are meaningless, and their food is either poorly prepared or deliberately ruined. Save yourself the trouble and stay far away from this restaurant. There are plenty of better options out there that actually value their customers and know how to prepare good food.

First time trying Angeethi and we ordered takeout. We tried a variety of dishes and everything seemed too salty, even to my partner who is a smoker. Samosa was homemade but heavy with oil and the whole thing just fell apart when I tried to eat it. I liked the flavour of the samosa filling though, it was tasty with large pieces of potato. The curries we bought had good flavour, although salty, and we liked that there was enough spice for us at "medium". It wasn't bland, for sure! Some of the naan was very hard and couldn't be bent to eat with. It tasted good as a dipper. Staff both on phone and in person were not very friendly. I was not treated rudely, but also felt inconvenient and not welcome compared to other experiences. Price was average to average high compared to other South Asian restaurants. Overall we did enjoy our meal and we got full, but in the future I'll stick to our old favourites.

Our visit to Angeethi took us by surprise as their food was incredibly tasty which we didn’t expect at all! This place is truly a underrated hidden gem. Their paneer lababdar was the star of the show as the item’s gravy was indeed really good and the paneer being incredibly moist and soft as well. Their chicken jhalfrezi had an unique taste as well, the background taste of the lime brought a subtle flavour to it which me and my friends absolutely loved. Additionally their naans were incredibly fresh and acted as the perfect companion to the main dishes. Lastly, their hot served gulab jamun was the chery on top as it was the perfect dessert to go with after such an incredible meal. The staffs were courteous and were sure to cater us accordingly. All in all, highly recommended. P.s: we were assured on call before visiting that their chicken and lamb served in the restaurant were halal certified.

New Review (April 11, 2020)

Ordered the Easter Family Meal Combo, what an amazing taste, great portions, best quality and decent Service. I highly recommend this place!!! In my old review I rated 2* but now I am changing it to 5* because they deserve it.

Old Review:

We visited the restaurant recently for lunch and ordered stuff from the menu. For curries we ordered Kadhai Paneer and Veg Hari bhari. The server took our order and when the curries came on the table we were very shocked. Both the curries looked exact same. So we asked the server how come it is both same. He said at that point that Kadhai paneer and Veg Hari Bhari are 90% same in preparation. We as customers wont know it. It is servers responsibility to mention to us when we were ordering that both preparation are exactly same and there won't be any difference. We were so disappointed as this thing happened when they were in their old location when they had a big menu. So basically we ordered 2 different curry but they came almost identical and had to pay 2 separate amount for them.

Also, there is 1 big problem in this restaurant, a lot of item is not at all prepared according to recipe.

The kadhai Paneer is generally dry preparation however here was full of Gravy and lacked taste.

The Gobi 65 is normally prepared in sauces and lot of different spices however they serve Gobi 65 as just fried cauliflower balls which is surprising.

On the other side, some of their items are prepared really well.

Their weekend breakfast is Must try.

Also, there is one thing which we didnt like it and it is form of cheating clients. They charge 17% gratuity for a group of 6 or more people, when I asked why are u charging gratuity, the server said, when there are more people, we have to arrange tables and such so we charge extra, I said it cannot be mandatory, he replied, it is mandatory and it is a rule in food industry.

This is not at all acceptable that you are forcing people to pay 17% gratuity, it should be optional and customers can decide if they want to...

I am writing this review because its been the third time we had the same kind of tasteless food. The first two times we order online nd we thought may be the quality changes until the food gets delivered so we decided to dine in this time .We went to this place after a while nd the quality of food change disasterly.I personally was so shocked because I used to love the food of this place and tell all my friends to visit this place to taste the quality of Indian food but I guess not anymore... I don't know what happened to this place they changed the chef or might be some other reason....but the quality of food we had today was so tasteless that we didn't like the food at all even though we were so hungry that time. It seems like a waste of every single penny. The food wasn't even warm properly the gravy of our main course is like so watery Me and my husband were so disappointed. They were busy today seems like don't know how to handle the rush or may be because they had a big group of people for dine in...they took the other customers for granted nd seems like just trying to get rid from the rush. I found it very unfair because we didn't mind spending money but we didn't deserve that kind of quality of food at all. Atleast the girl who was attending us were nice but the chef did some disaster to the food.. seems Iike he was not happy nd just did a formality to get rid from our order... We will not recommend other people to go there if they will get the same kind of quality. Nd we will definitely won't visit this place in future Very...

Honestly Angeethi is my favourite Indian food restaurant in Saskatoon. We have dined in on multiple occasions. Every time we have been greeted by the owner and asked about how the food and our experience was. They care so much about customer service and it shows. Service always comes with a smile. More recently we have been ordering take out, either from Skip the Dishes or pickup directly from the restaurant. Skip the dishes takes quite awhile (but that's generally the norm for delivery) we called for pickup and were told 10-15 minutes, which was spot on.

Their food is authentic and so tasty! I really don't see us ordering from anywhere else in the city because we have had nothing but good experiences and delicious food.

If you are looking to try a new Indian restaurant or want a reliable take out spot this place is definitely for you. I couldn't say enough good things about them!

For those who are curious what we order: I almost always get butter chicken "medium" which, probably to people who aren't accustomed to spice, is REALLY spicy (I need to point out that I love that they make their food authentically spicy!), and this is perfect for me, my boyfriend either orders lamb korma or goat curry and he's obsessed with spicy food so he gets his extra spicy (which I would not recommend if you cannot tolerate spicy food well). Sometimes my butter chicken is spicier or thinner than other times, but I'm not going to be picky about it because I love this place and I...
