Keeping in mind this is a Motel, don’t expect anything luxurious... But I will say for the reduced business price it is okay. My colleague booked through booking.com, and called directly the motel to confirm the reservation, she mentioned that we were going to Sherbrooke for business. Upon arrival, we were greeted and were told if we would of mentioned we were in town for business there was a preferred rate. Once we both confirmed that we did mention on the phone that we were on a business stay, the manager adjusted the rate for us. We were advised that there was no housekeeping on two night stays, this was very disappointing especially winter with all the salt and snow, we carried it in the room on the little carpet :( and on the floor. Good thing we had brought our slippers!|We got to our room it was cute, small, super comfortable bed, clean towels, microwave, coffee machine, tv which needed to be unplugged to turn off, mini fridge which was not on, it had a foul smell, I washed emptied out the thawed ice water turned it on and the smell went away. For a small 10 room motel I think they could make an effort to offer better housekeeping and on a daily basis. If your anything like me, and move furniture around no matter were you stay you will have surprises! Sad to see the lack of attention to cleanliness in any motel or hotel for that matter! Bathroom in need of renovations.. a little moldy. There was 2 coffee sachets, and 4 bottles of water, 1 set of towels per person and we were told if we needed any additional towels we could pick them up at the front desk. If your on a budget it works! No creepy crawlers! That is a big plus! Would I go back? Yes, but I would confirm that everything that annoyed me from he first visit be attended to! Sorry I got no picks no time!...
Read moreFor a motel, excellent value. Clean and simple rooms. AMAZING water pressure in shower. Surprisingly soft towels. Good value for the money, regardless. Clean and perfect for one night. Front desk gal was cheerful and helpful Older motel but super clean and comfortable. I recently had the pleasure of staying at Motel Le Refuge on two separate occasions during a one week period while I picked up and dropped off my daughter at Bishop's. I must say, it exceeded all my expectations for a motel experience! For the price, the value is simply outstanding. The rooms are clean and straightforward, providing everything you need for a comfortable stay. One of the highlights was the shower—AMAZING water pressure that made for a refreshing experience after a long day. I was also pleasantly surprised by the surprisingly soft towels, which added a touch of luxury to my stay. Despite being an older motel, it was impeccably clean and incredibly comfortable, making it perfect for a one-night stopover. The cheerful and helpful front desk staff made check-in a breeze and set a positive tone for my visit. Overall, I highly recommend Motel Le Refuge for anyone looking for a great value and a comfortable stay. It’s a hidden gem that truly delivers on quality...
Read moreI've thought about this review for 3 days before writing it. We've stayed here before and were satisfied. However, this experience could be described as heartbreaking. We stayed in Room #6.
Even though we were told be the front desk to keep the fan on during the shower so the smoke alarm wouldn't go off, there was no instructions or clear icons on how to turn off the shower tap water with the two shower heads. It was by trial and error
Unfortunately, while taking a shower, my gold necklace with the new gold cross medallion, my son gave me only 9 days earlier for my birthday, came off and was lying under the drain cap
As I tried frantically to turn the water off, the other overhead faucet turned on and the water faucet wouldn't turn off. I turned the tap in the other direction still trying to turn the water off but the tap water only increased and washed my cherished gold cross down the drain. I'm literally heartbroken. Why was this faucet to difficult to turn off and operate. I'm still beside myself. If only there was some sort of indicator as to how to turn the water off. Perhaps if there was, instructions of any sort, I'd still have my son's...
