April 2025||I have stayed at this location several times while in the area for sports. It is a good location close to several restaurants and the mall. They have specific pet friendly rooms and a good area on the street behind that you can walk your dog.||I like the entrance of the hotel, it has a nice feel to it with a water fountain. Front desk staff are friendly and were able to accommodate us for an early check in so we could get my daughter ready for her dance competition which was really appreciated.||This stay we had our family of 4 (2 kids) and had a suite with separate bedroom that had two twin beds in it and a king bed in the main part. I feel that having a room that is meant for a larger amount of people such as this room should have more than one chair. We were celebrating my husband's 50th birthday while we were in town and had nowhere to sit other than on the bed and the one chair or at the desk that had a computer chair. Two seats is not enough. Our friends that also stayed there had a couch and chair and desk in their room so we ended up having cake in their room where we could all fit.||Breakfast in included, not as many options as usual. The pancake machine was broken so my daughter was offered frozen pancakes to put in the microwave, they were not good.||Tim Horton's and Wendy's is in the parking lot right beside the hotel which is nice option to grab a snack.||You get a discount if you show your room key at Central Social Hall not far across the hwy, nice place to have dinner and is kid friendly until around 9pm (can't remember exact time).||Overall we enjoy this location and continue to choose this place to stay because of location, cleanliness...
Read morePet friendly doesn't mean all pet types unfortunately. I have two cats, a reptile and 2 amphibians (all rescues of sorts). My job means I now have to move but when I tried booking with this hotel was told only cats and dogs are welcome. The assistant manager was sympathetic but unwavering in the hotel's position. So this place is "CAT and DOG" friendly only.
I understand people have phobias however irrational fears should not dictate policy. I offered to enclose and secure the "exotic" pets in locked containers if this would satisfy the hotel but they declined my business. Fortunately for me I have relatives in the area who are willing to help out, an inconvenience but a better option than not having a place to stay. The silly thing is Dogs need to go out regularly and both cats and dogs can trash a room however my "exotic" pets don't even need to leave their secured enclosures (nor would I want them to) so realistically are the least risk to the hotel and to me with regards to liability.
Pet friendly should mean just that, cat, dog, snake, salamander, turtle, bird or goldfish. These are all "pets", if you are Cat & Dog friendly then that should be how the...
Read moreThis used to be my go to place to stay when we traveled to Edmonton for both business and personal trips. We have stayed several times and one of the biggest reasons was the affordability and compassion that the staff and chain provided. Our last stay was in 2021 when my granddaughter was born and we paid roughly $99 per night. We just stayed and to my surprise the room was roughly $208 a night!!! When the staff was asked there were no answers and no help. The other reason we always choose here to stay was the compassion, when my daughter had complications they did everything they could to help us from late checkouts to no extra charges to helping with food for the kids this time we got none of that. My daughters baby had been taken to the nic unit and we were told under no circumstances could we stay longer than 12:30 (a half hour later) and they also charged us $27/day for our dog when we were told it would be a $25 deposit (or I wouldn’t have brought the dog) but because it was an emergency I brought her to save time. I have left several messages for 2 managers and not one has returned my call. Very disappointing stay this...
