Lovely decorated, clean cabin close to restaurants. The trees, boardwalk and lights are pretty at night. If this was a normal room then it would have been a higher review but loses stars as we stayed in cabin 8 which is the accessible room which had a couple of accessibility issues. Main issue was the shower. It had a fold out shower chair which was good but you cannot reach the tap to use shower when sitting on it. Person requiring the chair was 6ft 4 and could only just touch fingertips to the tap so a shorter person would not have been able to reach at all and would not have been able to use the shower. Also the water from shower head does not reach the shower chair even when on full and angled the furthest and therefore the person needed to hold the shower head the whole time. See attached photos. Needs to be fixed by either moving the location of the taps and shower head or the shower bench to actually be accessible. Two other small, easily fixed things are: 1. There needs to be a little threshold ramp at the front door as the step is a little high to get over independently in a wheelchair. 2. The blinds in the cabin are too high and not reachable for a person in a wheelchair to pull down independently. Would be a simple fix by attaching a cord or something to the current ring pull on the blinds to make it longer. See photos.

A wonderful little place in Mahone Bay. Everything still seems brand new, and it’s all very tastefully done. Very clean and very comfortable. The staff (especially Stephanie) were attentive, responsive and super friendly when needed. Location is perfect, near the town but just enough outside it to be a quiet, little oasis. Near the Bay-to-Bay trail, which makes a nice walk, especially when heading into town for a bite/coffee/shopping/etc. Also near a great little French bakery for breads/pastries/coffee. The sauna was wonderful as well. Highly recommended.

Modern and stylishly furnished cabins. You can hardly find anything similar in the region. The manager and owner were very responsive and supportive. We can highly recommend the Black Forest Cabins and would like to stay there again.

An absolutely beautiful little spot in a quiet place in Mahone Bay. The decor really blew us away - these cabins are well constructed and artfully decorated and designed. The lights and boardwalk are absolutely charming at night. We didn't use the sauna because we visited in a heatwave but would love to in the cooler months!

It is walkable to the town of Mahone Bay but also a great hub to explore the South Shore and is very close to Lunenburg. The best part is the AC , a MUST during our increasingly hot and humid summers! Blissful to come back after a hot humid day and "chill" to a nice TV show and relax.

The only suggestion I would have would be to include a microwave - would be lovely to be able to heat...

Pictures are as described. Very clean/new cabins, delightfully cute. Comfortable bed. Walkable to town/restaurants. They are at the intersection of a rather busy street. Things quieted down for us and this was not bothersome, but may not be suitable if you are a light sleeper. Not many downsides in our opinion except that it was difficult to get in contact with anyone when we needed assistance. The number provided for "on call" service did not reply. Thankfully, we did not have an urgent need. No staff are on site however and unclear if anyone is available locally should a more pressing problem exist. Of note the sauna does not reach a usable temperature, which we were...
