All and all, it was a good stay thanks to the front desk lady named May. She was great and very helpful. There was also another nice lady that was our server at O'Brian's for breakfast, and she was also really good. She was very nice towards us and was even making small take about where we were from and asking how our stay was going so far. The food and service was awesome. I gave her a tip for that day and the next day for the great job she was doing. (I forgot her name but she mentioned that she graduated in 1981.) Both ladies were very kind, thoughtful and caring towards us. Chase the bartender, on the other hand, was being rude on Halloween night towards me. He was doing his job, but I feel like he targeted me, He wouldn't serve me after my 2nd drink. He said "I'll see how you are after this 2nd one". I felt like my money was no good there. I finished my drink and left back to my room. He apologized a few days later after he over heard me complaining to my friend about the service I got from him. I would go back there but now it doesn't feel like the same happy place for wings and bulldogs. After ten years of supporting this establishment with my business, this is my only minor complaint. I hope I don't get awkward stares from him on wing night. Oh yeah, our fridge in our room didn't work so all our food went bad (room 103) and the bed closest to the washroom was slanted. Black widow drink special was awesome that I'm pretty sure we bought them out all weekend of there supplies to...
Read moreWe recently stayed at the Wayside Inn to attend a family funeral. We were warmly greeted by Amanda at the front desk, and she gave us our keys and vouchers to the $5 breakfast (regular price is $16). The rooms, while not large, had everything we needed, including an iron/ironing board, hairdryer, a good-sized bar fridge, a built-in desk and chair, and a comfy chair and ottoman. My husband was pleased with the large good-quality TV and channel lineup, which included several sports stations, to his delight! The hotel has two restaurants: O'Briens for breakfast and early lunch, and Barney's Pub for lunch, dinner and beyond (loads of seating at the bar and in the large rooms, as well as a cute little patio - very pleasant staff, as well). I think the even-numbered rooms actually look out on the patio and fountain, while the others look out on the parking lot, which is quiet. The premises were very clean (saw the hall being vacuumed and walls wiped down every day during our 4-days stay), with extra ample elevators and a small but functional exercise room downstairs. The Wayside Inn is within easy walking distance of a Subways and a well-stocked Safeway for groceries (also houses a small Starbuck's for you coffee lovers - opens at 7 a.m.) and several other restaurants. We found all the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. This will definitely be our hotel of choice the next time we're...
Read moreWe recently had our wedding reception at The Best Western Wayside Inn and couldn’t be happier with our experience! From the very beginning, the front desk staff—especially Amanda—were incredibly helpful and kind. She sent me the events package promptly after our first phone call, which made planning so much easier. Chase, the manager, was our main contact throughout the planning process, and he was fantastic—always eager to answer our questions and accommodate every request we had.
The venue itself is beautifully updated. Guests raved about how nice the banquet space and bathrooms were, and how comfortable and clean their rooms were. It was such a bonus to have our guests stay right on site at the reception venue—there was something so special about having all our favourite people in one place for the whole celebration.
The reception ran flawlessly thanks to the incredible staff. Service was top-notch, drinks and special plates were served promptly, and the food was absolutely delicious. To top it off, the hotel staff took care of all the table and chair setup and takedown, so we could truly enjoy our day without any added stress.
We would absolutely recommend this venue for any special event. The team at Wayside Inn helped to make our wedding day seamless...
