Castle Steakhouse — Restaurant in Wetaskiwin

I recently moved to Wetaskiwin so I am trying to figure out the best places to eat when your house is in shambles. Castle Steakhouse is certainly one of my top picks! I had them deliver, & the food was fantastic, the portion sizes filled me up and it was a reasonable price. I ordered the hamburger steak not realizing it came with a soup or salad and ordered a starter Greek salad. That hamburger steak has to be one of the best I have ever had! I don't know what they did to them, but the FRESH vegetables that came with it I ate first they were so good. The soup that came with the meal was very salty and several of the onions on the hamburger steak were skin, but those were minor issues that would not stop me from coming back. The Greek salad was delicious, I am presuming they're using a homemade dressing which was really good! My taste buds told me that the gravy wasn't a package gravy either. This establishment has some good food and service. Though one particular dish is questionable.

Soup of the day was back bacon and parmesan... Odd flavour and I think the soup was an after thought - "Here is vegetable soup oh... it's just plain vegetable soup... let's add bacon and parmesan for no reason. Oh and give little to no parmesan" I'm still debating if the bacon is real or those bacon you see on pizza. I think cream of chicken sounds better now and should have ordered that instead of this.

I ordered prime rib beef dip. Our server mentioned that beef dip is well known and heard good things about it. The beef dip was very good and fresh fries that are crispy. Even the deep fried onions is good too. Beef cooked perfectly and the gravy is not bad. It might be just me but gravy is a bit salty.

BLT is not bad but not much to say about BLT as it is just bacon, lettuce and tomatoes.

Staff are really friendly and attentive. Our server was patient too.

I took someone to eat here for their birthday. The service was subpar but even so, I always tip at restaurants because I know what it’s like to be a waitress. Afterwards, I left the money with the bill at the front while I went to the bathroom because there would’ve been change. When I came out, the owner met me at the register and rudely stated, “I hope you’re leaving my worker a tip!!” She didn’t even ask how my meal was or anything, just very condescending.
