To cross the Chacao Channel to reach the Big Island is to open the gates to a different world. Most of us have set imagery as to what things should look like and "feel" when we travel somewhere. Latin America in general is no exception to this "rule". Yet Chiloe is a own world. A mystical place. Full of beautiful scenery, interesting indigenous peoples and array of culinary delights and artisan crafts (wool, wood, seashells, etc) to gawk at. The Hostal was clean and basic. Very friendly couple whom were very attentive to our needs. It is a place to sleep and eat. It is not a resort or hotel comparative accommodated.
