Hostal Beraca — Hotel in Cochrane

What a surprise of a place! i had no idea what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised!

Rooms were incredibly clean and cozy and getting a single room for 20,000clp with breakfast felt like such a treat! Bed was super comfy too! And I even had a view of the mountain from my window 😊

Marlene was amazing and accommodating! I do recommend touching base with her in the morning though to let her know when you expect to be back during the day/evening if you go out. She works so hard but is the only person working there. Thus I had a time where I waited for 30min outside the hostel waiting to get in but so answer (she was out). So I found a window and entered that way. But other than that one blip, she was absolutely incredible and a truly wonderful person!

Don’t stay here. The woman who owns the place is incredibly rude. My partner was yelled at for cooking sausages in the kitchen (that they had told us was available for use and that was stacked high with filthy dishes from her own use) and then made to move outside to finish cooking them. I was scolded for cutting up vegetables (on a chopping board!!) on the table in the main room and then screamed at at 5.45am when I accidentally broke a plate after breakfast while stacking them and trying to help her. She then thrust a broom at me and demanded I pay for the individual plate. The entire time we have been here - it has been laughable how rude this woman has been to us. Would not return. They also never heat the place so it is freezing and has zero insulation so you can...

Con mis papás reservamos la habitación triple que tenían en noviembre de 2019, cuando llegamos a la hostal la señora nos miró con cara de espanto porque se la había arrendado a alguien más. Estuvimos cerca de una hora esperando una solución, nos ofreció una once mientras ella preparaba otra pieza que la tenía "en arreglos", hacía frío y cuando entramos a esa pieza casi nos congelamos, por cierto el acceso a es pieza es por fuera de la hostal, teníamos reservadas dos noches. Como era tarde nos quedamos ahí, estaba lloviendo y no era hora para salir a buscar, la pieza tenía ventanales grandes y se escuchaban hasta los perros que pasaban por afuera, para que decir del segundo piso, nos enteramos de todas las conversaciones y además que ni pudimos dormir bien por todo lo que crujía las tablas de arriba, la pieza tenía un baño exageradamente grande y sin terminar. Además había una escalera a la mitad de la habitación que arriba tenía otra pieza. La señora nos encencio la chimenea pero tenía filtración y nos congelamos igual. Al día siguiente le comentamos esto a la señora y dijo que se iban las personas de la pieza triple así que podíamos ir a ocuparla nosotros, al entrar a la pieza nuestra sorpresa fue mayúscula, una pieza que no tenía nad que ver con las fotos que presentan en Internet, llena de humedad, fria, las tablas crujían más incluso que abajo, no había tele, el wifi era muy muy malo y el tremendo desayuno que se promociona no vale la pena con el servicio que entrega el "hospedaje". Por cierto, cuando hicimos el contacto en noviembre se nos dijo que era una habitación con baño, pero es un baño para 6 habitaciones más, sin mentir estuve más de 20 minutos esperando para lavarme los dientes.
