We stayed at the Hotel Patagonia twice on our Caratera Austral drive. Once on the way down (when we discovered it) and then we booked 2 nights on the way back to pamper ourselves. We requested the same room and received it, the staff responded quickly and cheerfully. Ruth is a bundle of energy and a wealth of information, and a pleasure to chat with! Our towels were fluffy, the beds were very comfortable and the minibar was well stocked! Its not a cheap place to stay, but well worth the cost if you have the budget. We ate at Borek all 3 nights. The first night was a set menu which admittedly wasn't as good as we hoped. We ordered off the regular menu on our second stay, and it was fantastic. The drinks were strong and well made. The best of all of this was the included breakfast - a true smorgasbord. It is rated the best breakfast on the caratera and I can't disagree - fruit, cheese, meats, eggs, breads of all kinds, smoked salmon one day and even desserts - kuchen and other delicious treats. Juice, Agua Fresca, Milk, Coffee, Tea, Espresso....Coyhaique is worth a day or two to explore anyways, and the peace, comfort and quiet of the grounds, hotel and the restaurant are worth consideration. ...

We were headed down to support my friend Adam’s solo effort on Patagonian due to race being canceled for Covid. The hotel serves as an amazing hub for the event if you are running in future years. Ernesto assisted us in a late check in and also even tried to help us get food on Sunday night after his restaurant has long been closed. The food was delicious, I had seafood risotto & chimmicurri beef which were both exquisite. Due to Covid testing issues Ernesto went above and beyond to ensure we had documents printed we may need and also let us store a bag securely as we headed further South to Puerto Tranquilo. We utilized their laundry service and also were able to have them long up a day of fly fishing through the hotel. I would consider this an extreme value and perfect place to stay if you will be visiting Villa Cerra Castillo. We stayed in Santiago, Puerto Aysen, Puerto Tranquilo and here, and this was by far the...

The property has a beautiful small fruit orchard in the back, where we picked bursting ripe sweet cherries for a snack on the road.
The staff was very friendly, accommodating, and available. Most spoke English if you need it, but as always, knowing some Spanish will help.
Delicious breakfast included in a beautiful sunny dinning room.
Restaurant here at the hotel accommodated vegans deliciously. We let them know ahead of time, and they prepared creative and delicious options.
As many places in chile, the property has friendly and sweet dogs which belong to the hotel. They were a joyous and fun element to our stay, but if you do t like dogs, it’s something to be aware of.
Close proximity to the town center where there are plenty of stores to pick up last minute hiking fishing gear and groceries.
