Reset Elqui — Hotel in Paihuano

Reset Elqui is a true “reset” in every sense of the word. Getting there was quite the adventure-navigating the narrow roads of the Elqui valley is not for the faint hearted! The location was tucked away at the bottom of the valley, just past Alcohuaz. Google maps will struggle-get directions in advance. Flavio is the owner-who could not have been more helpful. The property has 3 self-catering (so bring your food and drinks) accommodations: one bungalow and two cabins. All three surround a single fire pit which is lit in the evening just as the stars start to come out. As novice stargazers myself, my husband and our 21 year old son were simply blown away by the night sky. Without light pollution and surrounded only by nature you can really appreciate the wonder of the cosmos!!...

Parece que soy más crítico con respecto a precio/servicio de este lugar. No sé cómo dan tan buenas calificaciones o fue en otro momento muy al principio de la apertura. De hotel... ¡nada! El mejor resumen sería que es un camping con 3 cabañas, dos para dos personas y una para 4. Luego cuando ud ve en el detalle que sólo queda una habitación para 2, es obvio sólo tienen dos cabañas para 2 personas luego parece que están muy solicitados y no es así, no tienen capacidad de recibir más pasajeros. Relatando la historia de por qué digo que es un camping con cabañas y por lo tanto es carísimo para el nivel del servicio. Las maletas las lleva uno en una caretilla, cero ayuda y yo llegué con muletas por una lesión y mi señora. Elegimos algo caro esperando que dieran un buen servicio. Error!! La habitación parchado el piso con cinta adhesiva gris porque estaba roto, roto!! y por lo tanto la puerta del baño no se podía cerrar. Y nosotros al final del valle de Elqui. No había luz, por un corte eléctrico y no tienen generador,.... el agua requiere de una bomba de agua... sin energía eléctrica tampoco teníamos agua. Llegó la luz tarde. Luego la ducha sin cortina, y sin agua caliente. Tenia problema el calefont. Lo arreglaron y luego tuve que revisarlo yo porque seguía con problemas. En un camping no me hago problema, pero un lugar que diga que es hotel y caro para lo que es... ¡claro que me indigno! No hacen la habitación, ¿necesita que se la hagan? Pague aparte.... ¿pero si pagué para que no tuviera que hacer yo mi cama? ¿Esto es un hotel? La piscina imposible meterse, gélida. Entonces usaremos los sofás en obra... pero los cojines están rotos... ¿no será mucho? Camino para llegar últimos 300 metros muy muy malo de tierra, angosto y una parte con pendiente fuerte. Los autos quedan a pleno sol. Lo bueno? Buena cama, desayuno simpático, linda vista, alejado y de noche hay muy poca contaminación lumínica para poder ver el cielo estrellado. Otro problema no reciben tarjetas, es sólo con transferencia o efectivo....y no te lo dicen hasta el momento del pago. Y de la boleta... aún la espero. Demasiadas cosas malas para poder dar una calificación mejor. Los "anfitriones" Tatiana, preocupada, Flavio inexistente y poco amable. Y diciéndole lo mismo a Tatiana, tampoco hubo un "cierto, ¿te parece un descuento?" Mucho por trabajar para volver a la altura de los buenos...

I loved the bungalow we stayed at, it was large and had a beautiful views. There was a hidden away tree area which was lovely to just sit and relax. You can also sit by the river which was a short distance from the place. The pool area was amazing as you were literally surrounded by hills and the views and contrast was incredible. At night time the staff setup a campfire and you can sit and watch the stars which was the highlight of my stay. You will need to make sure you are well prepared as it’s hot during the day but at night the temperature drops so you will need a warm jacket and beanie to stargaze. The staff were super friendly...
