1-An extra night was charged to the wrong card without any notice. Limit blocked. It was very difficult to get them to cancel. 2- Room service - no shampoo and no replacement. Dirty floor in the room. 3- It took over an hour to get the shampoo refilled after many requests. I had to wait an hour to take a shower and I was late for a trip. 4- I left a box at the reception to be put in my room at 6 am. When I got back at 1 pm, they hadn't put it in. I called many times to ask and only after an hour did I receive it. 5- There is often no one at the reception. No one answers the phone. 6- I asked to speak to the manager, but he wasn't there. I left my phone number. No one answered. 7- In the middle of the night I was woken up by a flash of light. After a while I realized that it was a flashlight pointing at my room, my bed. I called the reception in the early hours of the morning and no one answered. At 5 am I went to the reception and asked what was wrong. The receptionist, not really caring if he had scared me and woke me up, said it was the security guard without giving me any explanation as to why he would have done this 8- I went on a four-day tour and then returned, even without having checked out, I kept receiving emails to pre-check in again 9- In the room, the shower had intermittent water, cold water jets and very hot water jets without any control 10- TV without a smart TV nowadays in a hotel like this???? 11- Dirty and stained towels in the pool/spa area 12- Pools without maintenance, peeling and with flaws in the floor 13- Bathroom and changing room of the spa - broken shower, no soap in the dispenser and only cold water 14- Refusal to release a room 2 hours before when we returned from the tour without even checking availability 15- Very bad breakfast, few options, very poor and, as usual, terrible service. Can you believe the waiter got mad at me because I took a napkin from another table since there were none at mine and no one brought any? 16-again, there was no manager when I asked to speak. Even though they had my phone number, no contact was made. Does he exist??? At the very least, he has no interest in understanding, responding to or...

The grounds of Cumbres San Pedro de Atacama are absolutely beautiful, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere. The bar and kitchen staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout our stay, and their kindness truly stood out. We had the unfortunate experience of one person in our group becoming very altitude sick during our stay, which happened to coincide with New Year’s Eve. Although the kitchen was only open for the special New Year’s Eve dinner, the staff kindly went out of their way to prepare chicken soup for us to be delivered to the room while the sick individual was bed bound. We were incredibly thankful for their thoughtfulness and support during a tough time. ||Unfortunately, the reception staff were less impressive. Some appeared quite clueless, and communication was difficult due to their limited English skills, which made resolving issues or getting information more challenging than it should have been. ||Additionally, the room service menu offered very limited and uninspiring options that didn’t match the otherwise high standards of the hotel. This was disappointing, especially for a property of this calibre. ||The shower and plumbing in our room also had significant issues. The water pressure was extremely low, even at its highest setting, making it difficult to enjoy a proper shower. On top of that, every so often, the water would shoot out a stream of boiling hot water. While I eventually learnt to predict the pattern (it came after the second high-pitched hiss sound/jet stream), it was an inconvenience that could definitely be improved. ||Overall, the stunning grounds, excellent bar and kitchen staff, and their willingness to help in unexpected situations made our stay memorable, but addressing the reception staff's capabilities, plumbing issues, and improving the room service menu would greatly enhance...

STAY AWAY!!!! This is not an hotel - it is a huge overpriced, dirty hostel with low maintenance and a rude manager; The place has 60 rooms - we ( my 24 year old son and me) were almost alone in the premises and nevertheless we had a terrible experience: 1. The hotel is very, very far from town. 2. The rooms are very far from the parking area - we had to walk more than 7 minutes to our room and even more for breakfast. 3. There is no assistance in caring the luggage to the room, the way is not paved, you must drag the suitcases on the sand. 4. The room had a bad order, was dirty and there were other people hairs and scattered cleaning papers in the room. 5. There was no hot water in the shower (we were there in winter). 6. You get only *one* shower cap during your stay, on the first day (stayed 4 nights). Soap and body cream in tubes nailed to the wall that are super hard to press ( I had to buy soap in town). Completely coffee and water in the room only on the first day of arrival and you can’t drink the tape water. 7. The sinks were blocked- water didn’t come down while in use. 8. We had to pack and move to a different room due to a leak in the toilet - my pajamas got wet from the stinky water leak that covered the bathroom floor. 9. The patio pergola of our room was all broken down and there was no shadow (see picture). 10. The TV didn’t work. 11. The swimming pool has green and black algas - and is very dirty- we had to walk 15 minutes to get to the pool. I asked to talk to the manager- not only he didn’t apologize or try to make us happy he was aggressive, rude and said I better leave the “hotel” because my expectations are to high. We came for 4 nights my son found it a bother to move, I am sorry we didn’t!!! There are plenty of very good hotels in San Pedro - why suffer?!! I recommend not to get close!!!!!!!

In my opinion a well-deserved 5 star review. I was a bit surprised by some of the „hater comments“ here on Google and would like to counter argue. We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights in a superior double room. First of all, the hotel area is very spacious. Its architecture fits very well into the desert and is absolutely authentic. The room was very pretty, clean, spacious and everything worked perfectly. The only thing I would critisize is that there is no Wifi in the room. For us it was not really a problem though since we spent most of the days out in the desert anyway (we didn’t book activities with the hotel). The staff is so caring, very friendly, talking to the guests, making extra efforts (e.g. opening the mini-gym 2hrs earlier than regular) and seem in general to really enjoy their job. The breakfast is probably the thing I enjoyed most. Lavish options. Fresh fruit, vegetables, bread, sandwiches, muesli, pastries, etc. We always had dinner in town (drove there with our rental car which you can park close to the main street) so I cannot comment on the restaurant. The hotel is of course more expensive because it is an upper-class hotel. However, compared to other such hotels, the price is absolutely justifiable.
