Hostal Callejon Massmann — Hotel in Temuco

Such a lovely alternative to a hotel! We booked from Canada and they sent a taxi to the airport to meet us. Our room was spotlessly clean with a large, very comfortable bed, with crisp, white linens. Walking distance to a nice cafe where we had dinner. We slept with the window open and heard nothing at night (quiet, residential street). The next morning we walked to the regional museum. We intended to go into the center to catch a bus to Valdivia, but the owner called the same taxi driver who took us to a small, local bus depot. On route, the driver also took us to a viewpoint where we could see the whole city & area. Before the bus left, the driver returned with my husband's camera, that he had left in the taxi. I stayed 3 nights during a work trip and felt like a part of the family from the minute I arrived. Owners and staff are all friendly and personable. The hostal has a "homie" atmosphere and the room was very comfortable with en-suite bathroom, warm cozy bed and a flatscreen tv. Breakfast is included which consists of bread, selection of jams / spreads, meat, cheese, yogurt, fruit, cereal, muffins, coffee, tea and juice. The location was also close to the mall, restaurants and convenience stores...this was nice since I did not have a car. I recommend to anyone...

O Hostal é de uma arquitetura muito simpática, localizado numa rua sem saída, o que torna-a bem tranquila. Fica numa travessa da Av. Alemania, uma das principais da cidade e com algumas opções muito boas de restaurantes perto do Hostal, bem como o Museu Regional de Araucanía que abriga uma coleção permanente voltada para os Mapuches (índios da região). O atendimento foi muito cordial e prestativo com informações sobre a região, mas como se trata de um hostal, alguns serviços como ajudar com as bagagens não é oferecido, pelo menos não nos foi. A dona do Hostal, Raquel, me ajudou inclusive com um problema inusitado que tive com a perda de uma calota de um carro alugado.||O quarto que ficamos, 6, em si era de um tamanho bom, a cama muito boa, com Tv a cabo que funcionou muito bem, bem como o Wi-fi. No entanto, o banheiro era muito apertado. O boxe tinha bem menos de 1 m2, o que já era complicado, mas a cortina que existia tinha que ficar para dentro do boxe para não deixar a água sair (que mesmo assim saía) e ao se fazer isso, ela ficava grudando na gente durante o banho pois ficava muito estreito. Além disso, água quente demorava muito para chegar no cano, o que sempre levava a um desperdício de água considerável. O café da manhã também era bem simples, só havia um tipo de fruta, cereais apenas sucrilhos e um bolo industrializado, bem como os pães de forma, ou seja, faltava um toque mais caseiro no café, parecia que tinham acabado de trazer as mercadorias de um supermercado e colocado na mesa. Mas mesmo assim era possível tomar um café da manhã razoável. O custo benefício me pareceu bem legal, ficaria hospedado lá novamente, apesar dos...
