Beijing Pudi Hotel — Hotel in Beijing

The building looks grand, and is in a prime location right near the railway station. It took me five minutes and fifteen seconds to walk from Jianguomen metro stop (yes, I timed myself), which is one change of trains away from the Airport Express stop. My room was large and the bed was very nice, and everything was clean and solidly-built. But despite all of this, I would still call it a very nice three-star hotel, rather than anything better. There is no real lobby area when you enter, but just a busy space with a small counter in one corner. There is no bar, or any significant seating in the common area where one would want to sit and chat. So it is as if it were a no-frills business hotel, but with oddly nice rooms. Great location near the subway. Convenient to get around. We had a massive room with two double beds and a day bed which was perfect for us and the 3 kids. Massive floor to ceiling windows on both sides allowed plenty of daylight and amazing views over the city and the remains of city wall. Beds were comfortable. Only downside was the tiny bathroom and the weird set up for the shower. It was basically a just a toilet room with a glass door to push right in front of toilet and reveal the shower area (basically the front of the toilet). That would have not bothered me too much if it didn’t mean walking on wet floor to use the toilets after each shower. Overall very good value for money. Clean and comfortable facilities....

Cons:- No room service rooms are usually too hot in winter and in summer no restaurants poorly equipped weight area at the GYM (No bars, no free weights except light dumbbells, no pull ups bar, no dips machine) executive lounge serves poor variety of stale old food and poor choices of drinks. low occupation rate, the hotel feels deserted...
