It's not often if at all that I have needed to give a 1 star rating, unfortunately tho, Pan Pacific Beijing is just this!
Before I continue, this rating is entirely based on the presentation of the room! The rating does not reflect the followup that was conducted after the trip to which I'll make further comments to at the end of my review.
Check-in while seamless,i was not advised of the additional charge for deposit! This would have taken the staff member "seconds"to do but was not done! This isn't really a negotiable item and Pan Pacific need to fix this habit
Room OK so the room is big and spacious!the pictures posted by others are fairly accurate! Now here is the thing, much like other hotels in Beijing (so I have heard) the devil is in the detail!
This room had NAIL TOE clippings from the previous guest all over the carpet rug! I get it... Clip your nails... But Pan Pacific failed to clean this up! It was so obvious when I entered the room! It's disgusting and dirty and is a extremely poor indication of the cleaning standards (if any) at Pan Pacific!
The bathroom shower has a very dirty and cracked tile...i can avoid it... But it was moulding and broken! When is it time Pan Pacific took care of it?
The mirror and basin was covered in toothpaste spit and splash from the last guest - This is just DISGUSTING!
Bathroom seals and floors dirty! Don't worry I cleaned it with the bathroom towel and it was dirty as hell.
This is a complete failure of the cleaning procedures employed by Pan Pacific! I've not really seen it at this level before and It really sucked!
So that's the room-based on this... If you want a clean bed and clean hotel. I would strongly strongly suggest you stay somewhere else! Accor hotels will Price match the best price by 10percent and you will get a clean room!
To this end,i struggled with a resolution on this complaint with the hotel. ( I'm the first to say that i was damn persistent and annoying! because I had the right) So know this....... they have not approached this in any way , shape or form as you will know your big brands from Accor/hyatt/IHG and SPG do! So beware.... Be very aware of the dirty rooms and poor complaint handling process!
FINALLY It's ok...i have in the past not minded a unclean/dirty room! I'm OK with it! I been there with cheaper hotels/ fewer stars and the reviews that said so! But for HUNDREDS of dollars per night in a 5 star (questionable) brand!!!! ........................... NOT ACCEPTABLE PAN PACIFIC
I will post...
Read moreWe stayed in the Pan Pacific for four nights and were generally quite impressed with the standard of the hotel. We had a king-size room on a reasonably high floor (can’t remember whether it was 11 or 12) which was looking out the back over the glass dome of the swimming-pool and was very quiet. The room had all mod-cons, coffee-making facilities and a very welcome spacious walk-in wardrobe.||Breakfast buffet was varied and very good with plenty to choose from for Eastern and Western tastes. The Amber Lounge on the rooftop is enjoyable (even if the views are not over the Forbidden City) and great for smaller bites (we had pizza).||We really enjoyed a visit to the pool which is a good size and which we had to ourselves for the better part of an hour. We did find it slightly strange that any pool-related facilities (sauna, steam-room, Jacuzzi etc) are strictly separated into male and female with the facilities for men being far superior to those available to women. Comparing notes, my husband confirmed that he had had access to a couple of pools of different temperatures and a sauna whereas on the female side, the only facility in working order was a small steam-room which curiously emitted its steam at ceiling height (as heat naturally rises, this made a mockery of the benches; you had to stand on your tippy-toes to enjoy any of the steam!)||It was helpful that some reception staff had English language skills and helped us with booking transport to and from a restaurant to celebrate my husband’s birthday. On an even nicer note, they gifted us a lovely, cuddly toy Panda when we checked out. Would...
Read moreVery nice hotel. This was a great choice for us as we need to have a walk in shower for my husband. The entire hotel was disability friendly. (note: the ramps in China in general, are much more steep and narrower than those in the US).||The room was very well appointed and quite large. Very elegant. It was nice to have a walk in closet. Bed and pillows were super comfortable. Make sure you bring a proper converter for the power, though they do have USB ports by the desk. ||The breakfast buffet was outstanding with both Asian and western choices. Several items were cooked to order (eggs or noodle dishes). We also really enjoyed the roof top bar and restaurant. The location was good. Out the hotel and around the corner to right is all kinds of shopping and restaurants. There is even a Seven/Eleven convenience store right by the hotel. ||The hotel has some wear and tear (mainly the carpet in the hallways), but it gives it character. She is a grand lady with a staff that was professional...
