We stayed here after doing extensive research and thought it would be a nice, boutique, mid range hotel with good service and nice relaxing areas. We were disappointed as the service is average (not much English, couldn't get us taxis easily, couldn't arrange things easily which is essential in Beijing when you don't speak mandarin!). |The room is also tiny-15m2- for $180aud at the time- which was just not worth it seeing as there are cheaper and similar options, or same price but nicer bigger hotels with better facilities. |Also, I get the idea that this used to be a youth hostel that has been redone, which is fine, except that they haven't taken their service levels up to meet the increased price. |Pros- very clean, quiet, closeish to a metro station. Nice courtyard, roof top is relaxing. |Other cons- difficult for taxis to find, dofficult to order a taxi to pick you up, roof top faces their air con unit which is not relaxing, low service compared to other places. |Overall, perhaps try another courtyard hotel in another area... As this one is okay, but over...
Read moreStayed for 2 nights at the end of last month. I can honestly say it was everything I expected. I loved my room, the courtyard, it was quiet, the location great and very handy to railway station. Lily is everything and more then the comments already listed on here about her. The attention to detail, exceptional customer service. I really felt quite at home. I have no sense of direction (get lost walking around the block) so I did get quite confused trying to navigate my way to and from the property even with my lovely local friend who came to stay with me. So glad Vivienne was with me on our first day of arrival, there is no way I would have found it otherwise. In terms of value for money I would definately stay again. We did not eat breaky each day as our tours began quite early so I cannot comment on the food aspect but everything else was fantastic. Whenever I travel the main concerns for me are the cleanliness of rooms and I was very happy with everything at...
Read moreThis place is too expensive for what it is. I can get a better breakfast from a reliable international hotel. While it was pleasant to be away from the hustle and bustle of Beijing the after service I got from this hotel - well there was none. Some valuable items were mistakenly left in this hotel and the management clearly didn’t care at all. The help and support I got from was from the online website through who I’d booked the stay. They were excellent. It was as if this hotel didn’t want to take the responsibility for how their employee handled the situation and couldn’t see they had done anything wrong. They offered me a paltry sum - kind of a “screw you” amount. I would look elsewhere when you look for somewhere to stay in Beijing. I know it’s just what happened to me but still something has to be said. The place was in a cute location but the place itself wasn’t that great. Please also remember Chinese service compared to Western service - there’s a...
