I have stayed at this hotel quite regularly and also have brought many of my clients to stay here with me many times. My stays here were very pleasant until the last time. First of all I was greeted nicely at reception although I noticed that the receptions were less English efficiency. I didn’t mind that at first then it became a problem later.
First of all I am a 5 stars hotel designer that traveled the world. I excepted the five stars service.
Upon checked in they upgraded me to deluxe corner room which I’m grateful then they mentioned that you are welcome to use the second floor club lounge because you are our member.
I went to work with my husband who is Spanish. The room was immaculately perfect. The next morning my husband went to get some food at the second floor lounge without any issue.
The second night we ordered room service which took us 1.5 hours to get our food because the room service couldn’t speak any English.
We ordered quinoa salad, club sandwiches, and stir fry flat noodles with beef. These are our regular meals ordered.
They didn’t understand what the stir fry noodle was and asked for number of the order on TV which it wasn’t there. It was on the promotion leaflet. We asked them to repeat the order many times, they couldn’t. Ended up we got the two other orders correct but the noodle we got beef soup noodle which we didn’t want.
Since we couldn’t communicate with room service to let them understand that they got the wrong food, we called reception and asked for someone with English proficiency. We got Emma and she helped us out nicely.
The next afternoon I went to the club lounge with my husband but we weren’t allowed in. They said our room doesn’t include the lounge. 3 people were there to confirm that we are not able to use.
We were upset because we went before. One of the gentleman came and said it’s ok I will let you use this time but your room doesn’t include. I took that as an insult. I am not there for free food or free service. We don’t need anything that doesn’t belong to us therefore we refused and went down to explain the situation to hotel manager.
She apologized because her staff told us to use the lounge but actually we are not eligible.
I feel that I shouldn’t bring my clients here anymore because I don’t want them to face any inconveniences like we did.
I expect 5 stars hotel to be more clear of the guests status and treated us more nicer.

During my stay, the team at the Executive Lounge made it an unforgettable occasion. Judy was incredibly warm and enthusiastic. She paid close attention to my requests regarding the room decoration for the birthday celebration. Not only did she ensure that every detail was perfect for my child, but she also showed great patience in catering to the needs of the elderly in my family.
Freya, another remarkable staff member, was extremely efficient in handling my questions and requests throughout my stay. She provided prompt feedback and ensured that everything was taken care of in a timely manner. Her dedication to guest satisfaction is a testament to the commitment to excellence.
The Executive Lounge itself offers an outstanding experience. The service is impeccable, and the dining selection is equally impressive. The food and beverages are of high quality, with carefully selected ingredients and artful presentation. The professionalism and attentiveness of their staff make every visit to the lounge a delight.
Overall, InterContinental Dongguan strikes a perfect balance between luxury, comfort, and outstanding hospitality.
