Dear Sir or Madam, |My wife and I made reservations online through hotel-rates.com on 4-24-14 for a king-sized room, 2 adults for one night. The price for the night was $72.90. We were able to get a late checkout for 3:00PM for an additional $10.00. The room was paid for up front to hotel-rates.com through our Visa, and the late checkout was paid for also with our Visa at the time of checking in. We were in a hurry to go to a wedding rehearsal so we go to the room to take a quick shower. We found the room deplorable, dirty carpet, filthy etc. We were in a hurry so we decided we could suffer through one night's stay, but I went to get my $10.00 back because we wanted to limit the time spent in the room. |Later that afternoon, we returned to the hotel. We looked around to find stink bugs throughout the room. This, to both of us, was a game changer. These bugs are poisonous and I turned the sheet back to discover one in the bed. According to the hotel supervisor, this permitted the hotel to say we used the shower and bed. We immediately went to the front desk to complain. We asked for a refund of our money but the hotel front desk said that the room was booked by Expedia and I would have to get the refund from them. I protested and told the front desk I did not use Expedia. They gave me Expedia's phone number and asked that I contact Expedia. They told us if we put in a complaint they would assure that we would be refunded the money paid for the room. We left the hotel around 7:00PM and found a real nice room at the Courtyard Marriott for $89.00. At the Marriott we finally were able to contact Expedia who informed us they had not booked the room. After looking at my conformation email, I saw the room was booked by hotel-rates.com. After several tries and a long wait, I was able to speak to hotel rates.com and they said that they did not know if I could get a refund or not. It would be up to the Days Inn and they would have to wait until the 26th to see what the hotel would say. And they would call me back the afternoon of the 26th to let me know what the Days Inn said.|That afternoon of the 26th I received a call from the booking party, hotel-rates.com. They said I had showered and had used the bed and they could give me a $20.00 credit for the room. I complained but they said it was all they could do, for the hotel refused to give any further. |My advice is not to stay at any Days Inn Hotels. For this hotel to rate a three star is ridiculous when it should not have rated one star. Please do not book your room with hotel rates.com.|Disappointed traveler, Lowell Harris|509 Chadwell Rd,|...
Read moreFabulous experience.Just took a weekend to visit Fuzhou, just planned to visit 三坊七巷 and nearby places. It took about 25 minutes to reach the hotel from the railway station by taxi.Hotel itself is located conveniently close to site seeing places. Easy to reach places like 三坊七巷. Subway station is within 6 minutes walk, by which many more places can be covered efficiently.I got an unexpected room upgrade upon check-in. Great thanks to Ms. Hong at the recipient desk. And I'd like to mention the Chinese Restaurant at 3rd floor, 荔枝肉 is a must-try. I did not not try other dishes is just because I could not take so much food in one meal.I'd like to recommend the Hotel...
Read moreCharming Chinese hotel, thoroughly enjoyed my stay (2 weeks). The staff are polite and friendly, rooms are clean and modernly furnished. Check-in took 1 minute which comes as a welcome change to a foreigner. Miinor quibbles/room for improvement:1. Employ someone to vacuum the carpets in the rooms and public spaces daily2,. Western breakfast options are not so important to me but they are to some foreigners. My recommendation would be to just offer fresh croissants and good quality ground coffee. That would be SO good! The coffee in the canteen tasted over-bitter and cheap. Anyway, on the whole, it's an excellent hotel and i would definitely...
