I have stayed at this hotel on two occasions, once before the COVID-19 pandemic, for approximately less than 10 days, and the second time, for 21 days.
On both occasions, I made advance reservations and prepaid for my stay. However, during my 1st check-out before the pandemic, I was informed that the hotel couldn't locate my payment and insisted on receiving payment again, promising to refund me once they found the original payment. Although they didn't ultimately charge me again in response to my inquiry, this initial experience left me dissatisfied.
Considering the hotel's convenient location and my extended stay during my second visit, I decided to give Pullman another chance, despite my previous unpleasant experience. Unfortunately, my second stay has also been marred by several issues: I specifically booked a non-smoking floor, yet I have encountered guests smoking in the hotel on multiple occasions, and this persisted for days. Only after I filed a complaint did the staff inform me that the smoking guest had already checked out. Apart from a simple apology, I did not see any genuine efforts made to maintain a smoke-free environment. Ensuring the safety and comfort of the hotel's environment is the hotel's responsibility, not mine. As I often need to work early in the morning, I requested not to be disturbed. However, it seems that the "Do Not Disturb" sign in the hotel room is merely decorative, as staff members continue to knock on my door. Some of your staff members provide excellent service, particularly the lady who cleans my floor. I recommend that you train all your staff to meet this high standard of professionalism. When I inquired about extending my stay for three additional days, the hotel generously offered me a so-called "member rate." I kindly request that you verify the actual price difference between this "member rate" and rates available on other booking platforms. I felt that my inquiry was not taken seriously, and perhaps it would be better not to offer such rates if they are not competitive. For my three-day extension, I had confirmed payment and room availability with the hotel front desk in advance. Since this was confirmed, shouldn't my room key card have been refreshed? Instead, I encountered difficulties with my key card, which led me to visit the front desk to resolve the issue myself. Read moreI have stayed at other hotels in Fuzhou but after my recent stay at the The Pullman Tahoe I don’t go anywhere else now. It was excellent overall but I want to write about the food experience. The head chef Tendi Fan, really went out of his way to make me feel like family. He runs a fantastic restaurant with amazing food, lots of variation and creative approach to integrating both local culture and surrounding asian influences.||||In the two weeks I stayed there I got to know him personally, as well as some of his staff, and we even got a chance to spend time outside of his normal role at the hotel. The highlight of my trip was when Tendi and I made plans to do some cycling on the local mountain. It unfortunately got rained out so he decided to take me to breakfast, to a local outdoor food market where the families make a delicious fusion of Chinese and Vietnamese cuisines (rice noodles, soups, duck, desserts, etc). I felt like I was on one of those cooking shows as we went from station to station trying some of what each family was preparing. And at one spot he talked to the owner and brought me in the kitchen to teach me how to make rice noodles! It was truly an experience I won’t forget. Read moreIt was our first trip to China, full of anxiety as we were traveling with very young children and elderly. But Pullman chief concierge mr frank jiang personally picked us up from the airport to ensure that we have a smooth transition from airport to hotel. Besides personally came to airport, he packed us some snacks for us to eat (as It was already past dinner time when we arrived) while on the way to the hotel. He had arranged our hotel rooms to be ready so we can check in immediately without delay as the young children and elderly were tired after the flight. His gesture had made the start of this trip a very pleasant one. For the next few days, mr frank and his team make sure all our requested are made to their best of abilities. The hotel rooms are sparkling clean, big and convenient. The hotel is just next to the very big and new mall( Tahoe mall) where there are everything you will need. Hotel breakfast buffet is great too! We would like to commend mr frank jiang and mr Jeremy for their top notch hospitality services rendered to us during our stay in Pullman.
