Chimelong Hotel — Hotel in Guangzhou City

Disappointing….

Booked for 2 nights in Feb 2025 as part of our 3 week China trip. The hotel facilities were old but not the worse. Just the overall experience had put us off entirely.

I’m not coming back again and here’s why: room wasn’t clean properly. food stain and left over rubbish found everywhere in our room. carpet were so dirty we found hair on our kids pillows when we arrived…disgusting couldn’t find staff to help with anything in timely manner. Got lost in the hotel but the staff didn’t bother showing us the right direction. I was so confused, the car dealer staff were everywhere but couldn’t find a hotel staff. -tried to rent a pram from the front desk, got given a half broken one and charged 100 per day and 1000 RMB for bond. Couldn’t enjoy the trip in the park at all since we had to worry about the pram being stolen or damage. That pram didn’t worth $100 rmb to start with. We made a complaint to the manager but didn’t get a response until we checked out. the signature tiger restaurant access was limited. Got told the dinner and breakfast time were shortened due to the car dealer function. No seats available, tried 3 times. We gave up and left the hotel to the CBD for food. no idea how you guys let all these private tour drivers (not sure if they’re scammers) access to the hotel area. My family tried to walk down to the shuttle bus station and got harassed by these drivers for the entire time. At least 4 group approached us and the security guards didn't do anything to protect us as guests. All they did was stood there…

Btw, not sure what you guys did to your staffs… didn’t see one smile from any hotel staff over 2 days, no one was willing to greet their guests and everyone look constipated…5 star...

Although the hotel is a bit dated, it is very clean, and the room design is excellent in my opinion. We stayed in a family room, which easily accommodated our family of five. The room and amenities had an animal theme, which the kids absolutely loved.||All the staff—whether at the lobby, restaurants, luggage storage, or housekeeping—were incredibly friendly and helpful. Our package included daily breakfast at the Tiger Restaurant, a couple of dinners, and a few miscellaneous items. There was some initial confusion about what was included, but the staff patiently addressed our concerns and clarified the details.||One of our daughters is very scared of clowns. During our meal at the Tiger Restaurant, a clown came out to entertain the guests. Upon our request, the restaurant staff kindly asked the clown to leave our area. On subsequent visits, the staff went above and beyond by arranging quiet or even secluded tables for us to ensure we wouldn’t encounter the clown again.||On one occasion, one of my daughters became very tired shortly after dinner started, so I took her back to our room. About 45 minutes before the restaurant closed, I was busy putting the kids to bed when the restaurant manager, Mr. Zeng (曾俊坚), called to check if I would be returning for dinner. He even offered to refund the dinner credit so we could use it another night if we couldn’t make it back. Considering that the Tiger Restaurant is a large venue with over a hundred tables, I was deeply impressed that he remembered our situation and took the time to reach out.||A big shoutout and thank you to Mr. Zeng and all the other staff at Chimelong Hotel. We loved our stay and will definitely return if we visit Chimelong...

Chimelong Hotel is a massive property with only three restaurants. If you stay for more than two nights, like we did, you might find the food variety a bit repetitive, although the dishes are generally delicious. However, the food prices are on the higher side.The rooms are spacious, especially the family room with a king bed and two single beds, which are both comfortable and roomy. While the rooms are somewhat dated and some corners have old dirt, it’s clear that the staff make a concerted effort to keep them as clean as possible.One of the highlights for families is the hotel’s effort to delight children with small surprises, such as cute cartoon designs on toiletries, cups, wall decorations, ceilings, TV panels, cabinets, and slippers.The most impressive feature is the White Tigers Restaurant, where you can enjoy a buffet breakfast while watching two real white tigers, flamingos, and birds around the restaurant. The restaurant is large, and food is replenished promptly, with a good variety of mostly local Chinese cuisine. The management team does an excellent job running such a large restaurant with a significant staff, although there is often a long queue to enter.The hotel provides transport to the wildlife safari park and bird park, and it’s just a 10-minute walk to the circus and theme park opposite the hotel. The check-in and checkout process is smooth, though it typically involves a 15-20 minute wait.Overall, it is a nice family hotel for activities at the three parks. My children enjoyed their stay...
