We went to this hotel after leaving the Ying Ge Hai Holiday hotel. This hotel is located close to the subway, and train station. This hotel is located on a busy street, which could be a problem in finding a taxi. There is a little driveway on the hotel, where taxi's can pull into. This hotel is located near the Marriott China hotel. ||||We asked for a double bed suite. The room itself has a small kitchenette to the right as you pass the entry. There is no microwave or other method for serving hot food. There was no refrigerator. The bathroom is located across the kitchenette. We had a white tiled bathroom with a large shower. Not the cleanest bathroom. One issue was the hot water fixture did not work as would be expected. Instead the hot water was hooked directly to the water heater, which poses a hazard for being burned. To change the hot water setting, one must stand directly under the stationary shower head. Other than that, the toilet leaked badly enough that towels had to be placed down on the tile to keep from slipping. The living room is just after the bathroom. The furniture was quite worn, but fairly comfortable. There is internet hook up available, but the internet itself was quite slow. Beyond the living room, is a separate bedroom area. This is where the television was located. This room had a large picture window, but the view was average. The bed was hard, but all the hotels we stayed in were similar in this respect. There was a mirror located right next to the window, which was great for applying makeup, as the bathroom did not have good lighting. One other issue we had with the room was the heating system. Apparently, there is a fan for blowing air into the room, but the heating portion did not work. We went to the desk to ask about how to heat the room, and they provided us with a countertop heater. This helped greatly, but may be an issue with families who have younger children. ||||The staff at the hotel was average. We did utilize them daily, to get directions and ask about train schedules. They assisted us with writing basic directions when we needed a cab. Breakfast or food is not offered at the hotel. ||||Outside the hotel, one can find money changers readily available. If money exchange is needed, be sure to confirm the authenticity of the Chinese RMBs with the money counter at the reception desk. The money changers we utilized in the front of the hotel were ethical, and often insisted we validate the currency at the reception desk. The money changers also sold cards for cell phones, which we used...
Read moreif you want to have a good sleeping place in guangzhou, i suggest you not to come to stay in this hotel. the first bad impression was just right at the reception counter. the staff were very unpleasant and couldn't understand so much english. first night i was given a very bad room. the room was filled with cigarette smell which i think it was deeply stick in the furnitures. later i asked the receptionist to change but was refused and was told that every rooms in the hotel were full......i didn't believe what she said but couldn't do anything. i was told to wait till next day in order to be able to change to new room..... still not better than the old one. this room has no more cigarette smell but there were only few lights. the room was quite dark (with only few down lights). i had to take this room because thinking that if change to other room, it might not be better than this. anyhow, nothing is good in...
Read moreIt was my first trip to Guangzhou and this hotel was recommended to me so I booked it for 10 days. I would give the hotel a 2 1/2 stars. The service was very poor and the staff wasn't very helpful or knowledgeable. Service was also poor as the room wasn't cleaned daily and when it was, it wasn't cleaned properly. There was dirt under the couch and there was mold growing in the bathroom. ||||The bathroom had one of those instant water heater things that didn't work properly so one had to constantly adjust the heat of the water while taking a shower. ||||One good thing I could say is that the room was big, very low price, and in a good location for us as far as business was concerned. ||||I would not stay...
