The Harbin International Hotel is centrally located in the heart of the city, you will have easy access to major attractions and shopping.||||The hotel is an old hotel full of history and has accommodated major movie stars and politicians alike, the rooms are very large and the bathroom provides hot showers which is very important in a cold city such as Harbin.||||Despite the fact that the hotel is old, it has been maintained well. The rooms are old however is reasonably clean and spacious. I have stayed in a King sized room on the top floors for over a month. The hotel is great value for money.||||The cafeteria downstairs is to be forgotten and room service is non existent, you will be better off bringing food from the outside into the hotel. There is a Russian restaurant right next doors that offers great steak and all the western amenities.||||All in all, if you are looking for a place to sleep at at an affordable price then this will be one of the few good options in Harbin.||||The staff did not speak English as it is a very Chinese hotel, but that should not matter as they have handled foreigners and know the basic procedures of...
Read morePretty solid three stars. Rooms were spacious, but sparse amenities. The whole hotel was a bit run down and like everywhere in Harbin, full of cigarette smoke. I'll never get used to this. It's not as bad in China as it used to be but for some reason, Harbin hasn't gotten the message yet and people still smoke everywhere inside. The hotel lobby reeks.
The thermostat in the room was broken, but the room was warm enough even though it was -18C (0F) at night
The restaurant was not great. Breakfast was free with our room, but we only ate there once. Even free it wasn't worth it. The location was okay, although not walking distance to any of the main tourist sites like Central Street (Zhong Yang) or Zhaolin Park, Stalin Park, Sophia Cathedral or the rest. But it was on a main street so it was easy to get a car service or taxi. Value helps keep it at...
Read moreWe first visited Harbin and stayed at this hotel about two years ago and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, so naturally booked here again for our second visit to Harbin. What a disappointment! This hotel has really gone down in the past two years. None of the receptionists we came across could speak English, and there was a trader selling raw meat in the foyer! When we went up to our room, although the room was generally clean, everything had a look of tiredness about it. The bathroom, however, had black mould growing in the corners near the bath and the tap fittings rattled around in the basin. The breakfast, although cheap, was a typical Chinese cuisine and not up to international standard. In fact, I don't think this hotel deserves to be called an international hotel and it definitely doesn't deserve its...
