Grand Metropark Resort Sanya （South Gate） — Hotel in Sanya City

Pros:- Large, beautiful & maimtained in its ideal state area. There're lots of bright birds in the hotel territory: you can watch them on the pond, grass or I front of gulf fields in the morning & it's quite relaxing. Same way there're lots of bright flowers, blossoming bushes & beautiful trees- Lovely & helpful staff. Friendly ladies at reception desk, lovely housekeeping ladies, making everything clean & shining in a blink of an eye, nice baggy drivers, always ready to pick you up on the road, - thanks to everyone! Unfortunately almost no one talks English, but nobody suffers much as translating apps make it possible to solve any problem asap. Special thanks to Annie Li (hope, I remember the name right): she was very obliging & kind, serving our reservation & calling us a taxi to the railway station- There's a large, fully equiped gym - a treadmill, a cable machine, a Smith's mashine, a stationary bicycle, a rowing machine & some other. Same way there're some sets of dumbells, some inclined benches, cardiosteppers, fitballs, abs rollers, yoga mats, etc. Any type of fitness activity is available. And the most amaizing part is that sports is not popular, so the gym is never overcrowded. Never saw there more than 4 persons- There's a kids' centre near the pool & no kid will feel boring while letting the parents have some rest- There's a spa centre. We didn't use it unfortunately, so can't say, how good it is, but for sure, it should be good as everything in this hotel- As for the hotel location, it's located a bit outside the main road, that makes it quite peaceful, quiet & calm with not much car noise around. At the same time it takes only 12 minutes of walking to get to the beach or just 3,5 minutes on a baggy- As for the room itself, it was spacious, light & comfortable & it was a real pleasure to have breakfasts at a balcony, watching lazy chipmunks moving from one tree to another, white herons, eating something in the grass or golfists choosing the right stick somewhere afar. Also there's an air dehydrator in the roomCons:- For us there was no disadvantages at all, but maybe for someone it's not comfortable to walk 20 minutes to the Yalong bay restaurant area. We booked the Valentine Villa. A quick check-in and a wonderful surprise when walking into our Villa - while a little run down (peeling wallpaper, missing tiles in the pool, parts of door frames missing, and badly taped and hung curtains that was falling off the railings) the villa was bigger than expected and lovely, the reception staff were friendly and helpful, each day the cleaners came in and used bleach, a pool guy came to clean the pool and the gentlemen delivering room service orders never spoke English but were a delight, polite and friendly. The food while a little on the high price is worth it in terms of portions given and taste. Breakfast was okay, more Chinese breakfast than Western, but still some options to choose from. My family stayed in a pool villa for our family vacation and it was wonderful. Our villa was right on the garden and totally private. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel was located near Yalong Bay beach and also near to the street with restaurants, stores, and Yalong Bay Outlet mall. The hotel grows their own food and flowers at the farm. We really enjoyed fun fruit picking time. In addition, I left my belongings in a taxi, but F&B manager contacted the driver and sent it to me. The manager was very nice and friendly, speaking English well. Hotel staff members were amazing and food was delicious too.
