紫金山大酒店宴会厅 — Hotel in Shanghai

We stayed at Jinling Purple Mountain Hotel Shanghai for 5 days and 4 nights, and overall, the experience was acceptable with a few highlights and areas for improvement.

Check-in was smooth, and as with most hotels in China, a deposit was required to cover any incidental expenses. Toiletries were not replenished daily unless requested at the reception, which is also where they were dispensed.

We booked a Deluxe Twin Room, which had enough space for two large suitcases with room to move around comfortably. The hotel provided four bottles of water daily, and an air purifier was available in the room. The bed and pillows were comfortable, with the pillow softness just right. However, the air-conditioning was inconsistent, often stopping in the middle of the night, making the room uncomfortably warm.

The biggest drawback was the bathroom. It was dated — the bathtub was oddly shaped, the shower curtains felt old-fashioned, and while the water pressure was good, the drainage was poor, causing water to accumulate during showers.

The location was the hotel’s strongest point. It is close to a train station served by 3 metro lines, making it highly convenient for travel. There are three shopping malls nearby along with local neighbourhood shops for groceries and food. Major attractions like the Oriental Pearl TV Tower and Shanghai Tower were also just a short DiDi ride away.

In summary, while the stay was decent and the location excellent, we hope the hotel can improve its bathroom facilities and air-conditioning system. If those are addressed, we would be happy to stay here again on our next visit...

We stayed two nights and had a great exprience there at Purple Mountain Hotel Shanghai. But the service of front desk was not of 5-star grade, I felt their service was kind of machanical one, so I felt kind of pity for that. Except for this one, we were very satisfied overall. This hotel has a great value for money. It has an outer pool at 5th floor, and we really enjoyed swimming there, surrounded by many buildings of Pudong ...

Stayed there for more than a week, great location close to subway and lots of dinings. the hotel service was so good, receptionist are always kinda and there is always some can speak English. Buffet breakfast has verity of different western and Asian dishes. overall really satisfied with quality and service...
