I lived in this hotel more than 20 times and normally the experience is good. However, last week I faced fapiao issue and Renaissance Yangtze did not handle it well. It promised me that they have some problem with the fapiao and will ship it out last Friday as soon as they fix the issue. Otherwise they will notice me and let me know the latest status. However, I received one call this morning and it seems their clerk forgot to handle my fapiao and another guy checked the information with me again. The new representative made another promise to me that he will ship out the fapiao today and provided me the shipping tracking number through SMS. However, I did not receive any update till now and feel really frustrated about their service. To be honest, i am mostly satisfied with their lounge and room clean environment. Read moreThe staff is very unhelpful (other than the door man who’s always friendly). Reception staff always make you feel like you’re inconveniencing them. We never feel very welcome, they give my wife a very hard time if she gets there before me (even though I always call ahead). They make a big deal about upgrading you - which basically means a higher floor - still the same small room. Coffee maker never works - leaks everywhere or shuts off. Reporting an issue gets nowhere. Internet is always very slow. Room for two only gets stuff for one (one bathrobe, one water, one candy...) requesting extra towels gets you nowhere. Don’t even bother with mobile check-in, means nothing. No vip checkin. While trying to check-in, every person who jumps in front of you will get served first. Why do we stay here? Location. We need to be in Hongqiao and the Other Bonvoy hotel on Hongqiao road...

Yangtze is a bit old, you can say they maintain it pretty well, but it's still old, carpet, tub, stool, TV, ETC., need to be upgraded, nowadays people especially young travelers prefer new and modern one, as a five star hotel, a fancy looking lobby is not enough. Meanwhile, you may find a lot of very new and looking nicely hotel with a pretty attractive price everywhere, but not the service quality, to be very honest, this is the why I choose here, I won't compromise with service, good service is always my priority. Renaissance is not only a name or a brand, for me it's a symbol of credit and trust, of course it will be very grateful if they can do remodeling job, I would definitely keep my loyalty to this one and highly recommend...
