Our family did a weekend trip to Shenzhen, China on 21st to 22nd December 2024 to celebrate our son’s birthday. We wanted to visit and stay in the Futian area as there is direct high speed train from Hong Kong West Kowloon station to Futian Station. There were only two good branded hotels in the central Futian area that is close to Coco Park and Futian train station, which was the Crowne Plaza Hotel Shenzhen Futian and the Futian Shangri-La, Shenzhen. ||We chose the Crowne Plaza Hotel Shenzhen Futian over the Futian Shangri-La after checking both hotel websites because it offered more diverse range of room types. When checking the maps Crowne Plaza Hotel Shenzhen Futian was closer to the Futian Station than the Futian Shangri-La. If you come out of exit 7 of Futian Station it just takes 4 minute to 5 minute walk to the Crowne Plaza Hotel Shenzhen Futian. Another reason why we chose to stay at Crowne Plaza Hotel Shenzhen Futian is that on its website it mentions under hotel information in the amenities tab early check in and late check out is possible.||As we are a family of four I booked 2 King Premium City View Rooms. When I first called the front desk I was directed to Ms. Emma Tong and told her about my requests, which she duly noted. She speaks good English. I was provided an email address where I also emailed my requests together with my booking details to Ms. Emma Tong. I was delighted to receive a kind reply by email from Ms. Emma Tong that my late check out time was confirmed together with complimentary amenities for my son to celebrate his birthday. I sincerely appreciate Ms. Emma Tong’s effort for this.||The biggest praise goes to Ms. Eunice Zhang. She was the one really working hard behind the scenes to make my early check in time possible even when it was a peak season. During my conversations with her she also knows what to do to make it possible. Her suggestions and ideas to me the day before I arrived at the hotel flattered me. As she will not be there when I check in she passed on the message to her colleague Mr. Johson Mo. ||Even when we walked to the Crowne Plaza Hotel Shenzhen Futian Nick greeted us and came out to get our luggage and carried it all the way to the check in counter. Which was very professional. My check in and check out was very professionally handled by Momo Ma whose English was good. She surprised us by letting us know that our room was upgraded and that we were allocated a very high floor, which was on one of the executive floors. Our two rooms were allocated not just on the same floor but also right next to each other. This was very considerate. I sincerely appreciate Ms. Eunice Zhang for her plan and also Mr. Johson Mo for the execution of Ms. Eunice Zhang’s plan. I can see that this is a great teamwork between Ms. Eunice Zhang and Mr. Johson Mo. ||When we checked into our rooms we were happy to find that one of the rooms were decorated to celebrate my son’s birthday. It was also very touching of Mr. Johson and Ms. Gina to personally come and deliver the cake for my son as well. We are also grateful for the great view that we had from our rooms as we were able to see both the Coco Park and the golf course.||When looking at the previous trip advisor reviews this hotel used to be Marco Polo Shenzhen Hotel. But from 2021 it seems to have been converted to Crowne Plaza Hotel Shenzhen Futian. It seems there has been a makeover.||Part of the floors of the rooms has carpets, which are decorated with the Crowne Plaza Hotel’s iconic design. The work area and toilets are marble floors. The toilet deserves a special mention because its really great. It has both a stand in shower and the bath tub. It also has toothbrush, toothpaste and mouth wash. So its ok if you forget to bring your own toiletries or don’t bring it at all. It has a lot of hangers to hang your clothes. Even an umbrella in the room just incase it rains. Bed was comfortable enough for us to have a good night sleep. The temperature in the room could be freely adjusted. In the work desk there were suggestions on what you could do near the hotel as well.||One of the highlight of the hotel is that it has an amazing gym, swimming pool and fitness center and high class changing room on the 4th floor. Its one the best gyms I have seen in a hotel. The quality of the gym is better than most 5 star hotels I have seen. It even has an area for you to do boxing. The number and variety of weight machines, dumbbells, running machines, etc. is so amazing. If you are a person who really like to exercise this is the hotel to choose to stay. For hotel guest they even give you a free water bottle when you ask the reception. I brought my exercise gear. I got to do boxing and managed to use the gym. I thought the weather would be cold so I didn’t bring my swimming gear. But I find that the swimming pool is heated at 29 degrees. There were people swimming in the swimming pool as it was heated. Changing rooms are really clean and well kept. You get the towels from the reception. There is also a sauna room in the changing room. However, the receptionist at the fitness center doesn’t speak good English. Neverthelss, this is overcome by her using a voice translator to speak with me. | |We had breakfast included when we booked the room. Breakfast is on the 1st floor at Mr. Café. You check in for breakfast using your room card. They have a wide variety of food on offer. They have the usual eggs, bacon, sausages. They have a wide range of breads and a noodle section. They also have an Indian section, few sushi’s and fruits. But as this is China the Chinese food on offer including Dim Sum seems to be the chef’s specialty and tastes the best. Coffee and Tea is included for breakfast. Staff at breakfast seems to speak good English.||If you don’t want breakfast included just to the right of the hotel there is a MacDonalds. There are a few Starbucks near the hotel as well. Just across the street from the hotel is Luckin Coffee. After breakfast and lunch we would buy coffee at Luckin Coffee. Menu of Luckin Coffee is in Chinese only. We looked at the Chinese menu from one phone. Used google translate from another phone. You need to pay through Wechat Pay. ||Coco Park is 7 to 8 minute walk from the hotel. There are many restaurants, clothing stores and even a cinema in Coco Park. I was told that there was a large supermarket on the basement of Coco Park but we didn’t have time to visit there. There are small convenience stores near the hotel. Ping An Finance Center, which is the 4th tallest building in the world is just next to Coco Park. We tried the Free Sky 116 Observation Deck. It cost RMB 200 for adult, RMB 150 for student and RMB 100 for children below 150 centimeters in height. For students you need to provide passport or identification document to prove that you are a student. Its similar to the ICC’s Sky 100 Observation Deck. Ping An Finance Center has its own shopping mall, which has retail outlets and restaurants.||The hotel also has a kids area for very young children to play on the 1st floor. It seems the young children love this play area. As I walked pass this area the there were two young children asking their mum to play 10 minutes more. When their mum allowed they were so excited. There are four elevators that take you to your floor. They operate at good speeds. I didn’t need to wait a long time to take the elevator. The good thing about the elevator is that there are music coming out of the elevator, which I enjoyed listening while it took me to my floor. ||The current approximate composition of the nationality of the hotel guests is approximately 80% are local Chinese and from Hong Kong. While about 20% are foreigners. ||My family and I really enjoyed our stay in Crowne Plaza Hotel Shenzhen Futian. We will definitely consider coming back in future. I give it a 5 star rating for exceeding my expectations and making this stay a memorable one for my family and...

Read moreThe location of this hotel is excellent, as it is just a five-minute walk to the high-speed train station and minutes away from two metro line stations. However, due to my carelessness in confirming the venue, I mistakenly took a DiDi to another Crowne Plaza hotel for the driver couldn’t believe we hired DiDi for such a short distance, and I realized later that my confusion stemmed from using Gaode Map, which did not display the hotel’s name when searched in English – only the Chinese name worked. Actually, it applies to Didi too.||Thankfully, the senior management provided a wonderful response to our request. We were upgraded to the highest floor, offering stunning night views. Patrick was exceptionally kind and helpful in check in , and promptly pointed out the short walking distance to the high-speed train station upon our check out and ensuring the staff guided us properly. Eva, the loyalty manager, was also incredibly understanding and accommodating, allowing us a late check-out as we had two distant places to visit that day before our check-out.||The buffet breakfast was varied and delicious. For an enhanced dining experience, I recommend sitting by the windows or nearby, as the views add to the enjoyment of the meal.|If we stay in Futian again, this hotel will undoubtedly be...
