I guess it's time to pop my cherry with a negative review but I do not have a choice. My company was doing a presentation in this hotel and we had 5 hours to kill so we got a room to relax, shower, change and order lunch. It was difficult to book so I had to have the translator handle it for me. We got to the hotel, check-in which seemed to go fine. We soon realized they have us a room in building b which was quite a walk and not the same tower as our presentation. After the long walk we got into room and ordered room service, this is where the stay became fun...||||Room service gets there about an hour later and the gentle delivering it did not speak a word of English. If I did not have my translator there I have no idea what I would have done. I signed the check like in any other hotel I have even been in and he looked at me and kept repeating "bu dui" which I know means not correct or no. So the translator called down and they said they deposit they took was 500rmb and the meal is 507rmb. As of today's exchange rate that is about $1.15 please keep in mind. I did what any rational person would do, handed the guy 10rmb and said keep the change which he refused. He said in Chinese they can not split up the check ||||As this point I'm ready to wheel the food and the gentleman into the hallway and go hungry. So now it's been about 20min with the food sitting there and no reason was to make up for the $1.15 discrepancy. So I hang the gentleman the same American Express card I used to pay for the room and he now claims he is a different department and they don't take Amex. Really?? Now you are a different department all together after the whole "deposit on the room" conversation, you don't take foreign cards and you don't feel this is a message that should be delivered upon ordering, you wait till out mediocre food is cold and we are not beyond aggravated. ||||He ended up taking my card and I had 2 bites of cold chicken.||||To add to my amazing stay we checked in at 9:30am and out at 1:45. When we called down to tell them we were leaving they offered to cut the rate in half as we are a late check out and they could re-sell the room. So we didn't ask for this, they offered. Upon check out they rescinded that offer claiming we would have had to stay the night before ||||I don't know if they just treat foreigners like this or everyone but I would...
Read moreI and my family arrived the hotel at 5pm, yet the staff told us our reserved room was still not ready. This was already quite unpleasant, as the time was quite late. The staff then told us to wait for 30mins, so we went to the hotel cafe to have some drinks. We tried to order the royal coffee, a non-alcohol cocktail and some juice. Yet they can only provide the juice. I then tried to order some alcohol, but the staff told me they couldn’t do any alcohol, as they ran out of raw materials to make any alcohol drinks coz the sales was not good…..After 40mins I go back to the front counter… and what amazed me was they told me the room was still not ready, and kept telling some bull ** about the last visitor left late etc… but I mean does those are my problem? Those are your problems! Don’t throw your problem at me please! So after wasting a whole hour waiting at their lobby and cafe, they finally able to give me the room. And surprise surprise! The room was not clean at all!!!!!!!!!!!!! I found a sticker that looks like some kind of packagings used by last hand at the cupboard, a used cotton stick inside the washroom little drawer, hairs on the chair, water steins at the floor, loose bricks in the showering location, no lotions at the bathtub location, some packaging pieces at the floor, broken makeup mirror lights, old fashion (no smart function) TV…And the story didn’t end like this yet, a “Room inspector” came, and told me they didn’t “check” the room before my check-in… and she began to check the room, and I told her all those problems, and she seems couldn’t feel like those are some serious problems…..Seriously if it was not that late, I really prefer to get a refund and change my hotel asap.Non of those staffs treat the issue seriously, kept blaming something, not proactively solve my problems, not to say no compensation of my time loss and bad experience! This is not a so call a 5 stars hotel quality! Even worse than some 3 stars. Not recommend. The only good thing I can say was the staff help me to call taxi… and that’s it, by the way the staff at the cafe don’t even know what flavor their cocktails is before she check whether or not they can make the drinks! Such professional … I mean 90% of your drink menu is not able to make, you don’t...
