From the moment we arrived at Mandarin Oriental, Shenzhen on 8 August to our fond farewell on 9 August, every detail of our stay felt like a carefully choreographed celebration.||As we parked the car and approached the porte-cochère, a bellman welcomed us with a genuine smile that immediately put us at ease. Though I regret not catching his name (I remembered he is come from Changsha, Hunan), his attentive care left a lasting impression. He swiftly offered luggage assistance, guided us through the arrival lobby, and ensured our excited daughter felt treasured from the very first moment. His seamless escort to the check-in desk was the perfect overture to our stay.||At the reception desk, Gunnar and Nicole turned a check-in into a personalized experience. Their warm greetings felt like an embrace rather than a formality. They took the time to engage our daughter with a special key card of her own, delighting her with this thoughtful gesture. Throughout the process, they recognized me as a Fans of MO member, and their genuine smiles and engaging conversation revealed a professional level of hospitality. We felt welcomed and genuinely valued as hotel guests.||Upon completing check-in, Gunnar himself accompanied us to our room, providing a detailed introduction to every modern convenience. He even took note of our anniversary celebration request, ensuring that our room would bloom with romantic touches upon our return later that evening. His dedication continued through checkout, where he once again assisted with our luggage and bid us a heartfelt farewell. Gunnar’s consistently thoughtful attention made him the standout ambassador of our stay.||Behind the scenes, the housekeeping trio of Sherri, Hugo, and Nancy deserve special applause. Their masterpiece was the three-layer towel cake they crafted—an enchanting sculpture of soft linens that greeted us when we returned to our room that evening, gave us a great surprise that we never felt before. Their creativity and unwavering attention to detail truly elevated the ambiance of our anniversary memory.||Our stay was further enhanced by delightful surprises from The Mandarin Club and Guest Experience teams. Fleta’s handwritten anniversary card carried warm wishes in flowing script, while Reina’s beautifully printed family portrait captured a moment we’ll treasure forever. These subtle but heartfelt gestures embodied the hotel’s commitment to making every guest feel uniquely celebrated. Here at The Mandarin Club, I would like to give special compliments to Mia and Fleta, their warm and attentive service have demonstrated the extraordinary hospitality that hotel would be proud of.||In sum, Mandarin Oriental, Shenzhen transformed our 6th wedding anniversary into an experience we will reminisce about for years to come. From that welcoming smile at the entrance to the final wave goodbye, every member of the staff—from the welcoming bellman and the exemplary Gunnar and Nicole, to the talented Sherri, Hugo, Nancy, Fleta, Mia and Reina—played a vital role in crafting our unforgettable stay. We wholeheartedly recommend this extraordinary hotel to anyone seeking not just luxury accommodations, but genuine warmth and personalized service that linger long...
Read moreMy wife and I travel a lot and we tend to stay at high end 5 star hotels. We have recently stayed in mandarin oriental (MO) in Sanya and we were very impressed with the service and the resort itself so we decided to stay at MO when visiting shenzhen.MO shenzhen is a recently-opened hotel with a very impressive architecture. The room was super clean, spacious and modern with impressive skyline view of shenzhen. The location itself is fantastic with an excellent shopping mall downstair with plenty of choices for food and shopping. Most importantly, there is a direct access to two gorgeous big parks on either side of the hotel. These are the kind of parks you have to pay to enter in Europe. Public parks in China are normally very clean, beautiful, well-manicured and most importantly very safe to stroll around.Apart from the property itself, what stands out about MO shenzhen is the service. All the staff are super nice and professional. The person (? Neal, I am really bad with name!) who checked us in, took time to show us around the room and even gave us a free upgrade to a room with king bed. There is a culture of going the extra mile to please guests. The guy at the mo bar( fantastic vibe and night view) , offered us a table near the window which is normally reserved with certain amount of minimum spending. Friendly Robin always come and say hi /talk to us at breakfast /restaurant. There are many other staff who were very nice and helpful (sorry I am not good with names!). There was a lot of attention to details /personalised touch (we love the little gifts! ) . I am one of those people who do not expect everyone to speak English especially in a great civilization like China, but if that is important to you, surprisingly most of the staff at MO shenzhen speak English, so it is very foreigner-friendly.I can go on and on about good things related to our stay at MO shenzhen as we have now officially become fans! Will certainly stay...
Read moreWonderful experience in MO Shenzhen! I was with my girlfriends for a weekend break here and we were impressed with the hotel's design, FO service and dining experience in the breakfast venue and The Bay by Chef Fei. |Special thank to Yufeng HUANG, who was super helepful to help us making a lunch reservation in The Bay on the second day and flexibly offer us a late checkout so we didn't have to rush. He is friendly and able to switch flexibility between Mandarin, Cantonese and English when he figured out we struggled in talking with our broken Mandarin. Yufeng is really an asset to the hotel! |Guest room was clean and spacious, very comfortable bed. The only one thing for me was that the odour of cigarette upon we open the door was obvious but within manageable range. We should have menetioned about a non smoking room.|We also enjoyed the breakfast a lot with the great variety of high quality dishes from amazing bakery, waffle, Arabic section, dim sum, congee, salad, to cold brew coffee and even fresh whole young coconut! Service was great too.|Lunch in The Bay was really a highlight of the stay in which the Manager Linda provide us with amazing recommendations. Dim sum was stunning, one of the best restaurants we have ever tried. The crab dishes (奄仔蟹及長樂蟹) were terrific! All staff were very well groomed with smile, with professional food and Chinese tea knowledge and answered a lot of our curiosity about the food and tea. | The only one disppoiment was the long queue in MO Bar for more then 30 min while seeing some "VIP" or "people had booked and will pay for minimum charge" keep entering the bar. As well as the unattentice service that not worth mentioning in details here. Management should review the teams hosting service in handling the waiting queue as not to disappoint anyone especially this is a Best 50 Bar. This is the reason the whole stay worth 4 instead of 5 points.|Overall every was wonderful. Definitely...
