Crowne Plaza Tianjin Binhai Center, an IHG Hotel — Hotel in Tianjin

It is a hotel that is worth the 5-star status as they have gone above and beyond their required service to ensure I had an excellent stay.||||Rooms are large and it has everything a business traveller requires. Ironing board, sperate table to work. nice sofa to relax with a beer after a long day. I love the fact that the bathroom has a separate bathtub and shower. There are lots of chrome bits that will attract fingerprints, however, during my stay, I can say that the cleaners have done an exceptional job of ensuring that everything is wiped down. The bath towels are soft and have a mild floral fragrance. I love the shampoo conditioner and shower foam that was provided by the hotel. They not only smell good, I feel that they are better than most shower foams on the market.||||An incident that both disappoints but impresses me is, there is cigarette smell coming through the toilet vent. At day 3, the smell was so overpowering, it felt as if someone has smoked in my room. I had asked for a non-smoking floor and was surprised that there was cigarette smell emitting into the room. I completed the hotel 3 times over the last 4 days, but they were unable to find the root of the smell. They offered to change room for me. When I came back, the front desk recognised me and got someone to help me move my luggage to a new floor. They even gave me a bottle of wine and a handwritten apology note. The staff at the front desk spoke very good English and delivered amazing customer service. They helped me adjust a reservation for a future stay, despite the fact that I could have done the changes online, but they went out of the way to help me. When I asked for help finding a restaurant close by, they walked out to the street with me and pointed out exactly where to go. In the morning, when I checked out, the concierge helped confirm that I had entered the correct address for my destination and ensured that the driver was clear about where to go. He also pointed out that the weather is cold and I should wear a jacket.|Fantastic service with a smile – great job guys! This is not even an isolated incident! They've done a great job every time I stayed at the property.||The room was large, clean, and quiet, with a great view of the Tianjin Tower. The hotel offers an extensive breakfast buffet with Chinese and Western options. I stayed here for two nights recently on a trip to Binhai. The Sheraton is large and functional. Whilst the rooms were a little dated everything was as it should be and the shower good and bed comfortable. The wifi as noted already isnt the best but this is China, so be it, expect to have to come out and reboot everything a couple of times each day but first world problems really.||||Breakfast each day was solid, plenty of choices, the first night we ate Chinese food in the hotel - very good and familiar to our Western palates, the second night we had pizza in the Italian which was cooked in the pizza over - very nice.
