Either you're visiting Tianjin for business or holiday, the Four Seasons here is the perfect choice. The facilities here are just unparalleled when compared to its competitors in this city.
From the Skypool on the 8th floor to the lobby area and its dining venues, every place looked modern and clean, but with some deliberate Chinese touches. Our room, room 1509, was in their Four Seasons Room category and was more than spacious for the three of us to stay with a gigantic king bed (one of the biggest I've ever seen) and a stand-alone hot tub next to the window. (Although the views weren't as unique as the others like the St Regis or the Ritz Carlton, the Tianjin Tower and the St Joseph Cathedral came into view from our room)
To continue, I'd like to talk about their culinary experience on offer. First of all, I'd have to talk about their flagship, the Jin House, which offered dishes with a blend of Cantonese and Tianjinese cuisines. My recommendations here would be the prawn dimsums in typhoon-shelter style, the pork-abalone dimsums, and, of course, the chef's signature fried ribs. When it comes to the breakfast buffet at CIELO, I was more than happy to see the presence of more than enough local dishes like the Qianbing pancakes and the traditional bean curd soup. (As well as plenty of Western options to choose from) Now, one thing I found very special about this place were their Tianjinese small bites that were delivered to our room every day. Along with its great tea selections, we had a very nice tea time in the afternoon after all the sightseeing. (You do have to select it as an option while booking your room from the official website, though)
Other than the wonderful room and the restaurants, I'd like to highlight the pool area, which served as a small oasis during our visit. The indoor pool here was decorated with some bamboo trees and a gorgeous skylight, making the area very atmospheric. (It also comes with two jacuzzis, one by the floor-to-ceiling windows next to the pool and one spa pool inside the locker.)
All of these fabulous hardware aspects came along with the kind staff here who offered great, personalised service during the stay. Our butler, Qi Qi, was always more than happy to help us when it came to recommendations for nearby restaurants or booking our meals at the Jin House downstairs. (Kudos to her) The manager at CIELO was also very nice and paid a lot of attention to the guest experience every morning by coming by and asking if we enjoyed the food, or if I want some more tea.
I do, however, have to talk about the slightly odd location of this hotel. Although the hotel is connected to the MIFC mall and is very close to the Isetan department store and the St. Joseph Cathedral as well, it isn't very close to the concession part of the city nor the riverside neighbourhood. Not a lot of places are reachable by foot and might need a 10-15 minute taxi ride to see the famous sights like Wu Da Dao or the ancient cultural street.
Overall, other than the location (which wasn't actually that big of a problem for at least us), I am happy to announce that the Four Seasons Tianjin made our trip here much interesting and outstanding and showed perfection on both the hardware and the software aspects. Would I stay here again on my next visit? Well, unless a new, better luxury hotel steps foot in the Tianjin hotel scene, I definitely will choose the Four...
Read moreMy recent stay at Four Seasons Tianjin was nothing short of exceptional. What truly sets this property apart is the remarkable staff who consistently went above and beyond to create a memorable experience.Even before arrival, Duty Manager Qiqi was preparing for my stay despite being on leave. Learning it was my first visit to Tianjin, she thoughtfully arranged a stunning room with panoramic skyline views that made for a perfect introduction to the city. The moment I arrived at the driveway, David from concierge greeted me personally. His Golden Key designation was evident in his impeccable professionalism and knowledge throughout my stay.Check-in with Olivia at the front desk was seamless. She had clearly familiarized herself with my preferences beforehand, making the process efficient while still providing a warm, personalized welcome and comprehensive overview of the property's facilities.Though working behind the scenes, Communications Coco and her team functioned like personal butlers, anticipating needs wherever I went. When I needed a garment bag for my suit to simplify air travel, a simple text through their live chat service was all it took - Coco went the extra mile to ensure it was delivered promptly.Breakfast service was where Alice truly shined. After noticing me select a passion fruit, she immediately appeared with a spoon without being asked and offered to prepare fresh-squeezed juice to complement my meal. This level of attentiveness and personalization defines the Four Seasons experience. While I never encountered the housekeeping team directly, their impeccable work spoke volumes. The turndown service particularly impressed me - the consistently prepared ice in the room during evening turndown demonstrated the brand's commitment to maintaining standards across all properties. What's remarkable is how each staff member made such an impression that I've remembered their names - a rarity in my hotel experiences. Every team member embodied the golden rule of treating others as they would wish to be treated themselves.I'm genuinely grateful for the exceptional care and will absolutely return when next in Tianjin. This property represents the Four Seasons brand...
Read moreHad one night stay and not sure whether do I want to return. It’s a high rise building locates at downtown. Negotiate traffic during rush hours can be difficult. Nothing much to fault in terms of hardware. Lobby looks spacious and well decorated. Had a high floor room which overlooks a school. However, had to draw curtains as soon as it gets dark because the next building has millions lights on. The bed felt a little bit lumpy, not as comfortable as other Four Seasons I stayed before. What made the stay not so great is the service. Despite front desk being friendly. The protocol of someone came to drop the personal message from GM and a bit welcoming snack at night. The overall service standard cannot match with usually five star hotel, let along the Four Season brand. There was no concierge both arrival and departure. Bath had hair and stains. Room service was overpriced with limited option. Whoever answered in room dining calls was inexperienced and unhelpful. He had to pause service times and asking the chef about simple questions like what is soup of the day. Had to queue for check out out because there was only one person work at the front desk. Coffee was not even warm at breakfast table. Just wondering maybe the purpose of keeping Four Seasons brand is to sell apartment next door, not about...
