Pros:||Nicely decorated||Clean||Big rooms, with very comfortable beds, pillows etc||Good food||Full amenities in room, and pool & gym facilities looked good (although closed when I tried to go at midday)||You can open the door to a balcony (presumably all rooms have one), which is unusual in high-rise buildings||Cons:||Shuttle bus was booked and never arrived. No apology or reason why. Taxi's are luckily not too pricey.||Almost no English at reception - doesn't sound like a problem but when dealing with payment and deposit etc, it's a nightmare.||Far from town - unless you're here for a conference, I would consider staying closer to town centre as there is little in the way of shops, nightlife, residents in this area||Deposit - this isn't declared upfront and was in fact the full amount for my 3 rooms upfront, quite hefty. Still haven't received deposit back 2 weeks after leaving.||The light switch system takes a while to figure out :-)||If you're attending conference within the smaller meeting rooms of the hotel and thus don't leave the hotel, the single track that they play throughout the hotel on repeat will drive you insane!!!||||All in all, I would definitely stay here if attending a conference. It is a bit of a walk to the actual conference centre, but our symposium was held within the hotel itself so it wasn't a problem for us. Fair choice of restaurants near the mall, although higher end pricing. Fantastic bar upstairs in the restaurant courtyard with good food, unbelievable cocktails,...
Read moreXiamen International Conference Centre hotel aka, ICC.||This is a new 5 star hotel with the best value for the price! The rooms are modern and beautiful. A separate shower room and a bathtub. I like the night light underneath the sink for night time use. The room air conditioning worked perfectly and my only small comment is that the numerous light switches are hard to remember or find which one to use. Even the do not disturb is an electronic switch. Now for the reason why this is my favourite hotel so far. I liked the walk out balcony overlooking the city view. If you choose the ocean view the morning sun is too bright so you can't look outside anyway but the night time view of the city lights is much better and so is the price! You get free high speed WiFi without using a password. You get 4 bottles of water free. Included in my room price I had the breakfast buffet which is a Huge amount. When I checked out at noon Emma at the front desk said I can stay in my room until 2:00pm to wait for my personal and Free airport transfer van. Wow! This was my best value hotel and I highly recommend it. Also only one block away from shopping mall JFC with lots of...
Read morePositive: The hotel is spacious, though it’s starting to show signs of age. Nonetheless, it is well-maintained and clean. The room was large and comfortable, with the staff ensuring it remained tidy throughout our stay. Its location, about 20-30 minutes from central Xiamen, makes it convenient for accessing various parts of the city. The hotel offers two large swimming pools, and the locker rooms are equipped with both dry and wet saunas. The staff were generally friendly.Negative: The exterior pool area lacks sufficient seating, making it difficult to relax by the pool, which is a significant drawback if you’re there for a vacation. The hotel’s considerable size is a downside, with only one central set of elevators, leading to long and tiresome walks down the corridors. Moreover, there are no power outlets on one side of the bed, nor are there any USB outlets. The area surrounding the hotel is rather dull, with little to offer beyond a shopping mall, a wharf, and a small stretch of beach.General: While we had a comfortable stay, this hotel is not ideal for a vacation. It’s recommended only if you specifically need to be in...
