Xiamen International Seaside Hotel — Hotel in Xiamen

The hotel is located on the seaside but there's no beach dedicated only to the hotel. Access to the shopping centers and the sightseeing is easy but should take the taxi. The rooms are quite big and well equipped with necessary stuff. Bed is comfy and the rooms are very quite. A good and easy access to the Xiamen conference center from the hotel lobby. Chinese food and seafood in the restaurant is very good quality but avoid other foods (like western food) as the quality is not good at all. ||Another shortcoming is the English language. Staff speak few English and do not understand well but they are helpful and kind.||Seaside rooms have a balcony with chairs and table and can enjoy the view to the sea. Another tip: it's preferred not to travel to Xiamen in the summer, it's quite hot and humid!||In general it is suitable for a relaxing...

We were going to visit the hotels pool with friends so we called in advance and confirmed that we could bring our drinks and snacks with us. Everything was ok for the first 30 minutes, after some time some people come over and said that we can’t have drinks but we can have snacks. After another 20 minutes they changed their mind again and said we can’t have snacks too. If we knew that, we wouldn’t choose this hotel so we were misled by their management few times (first by phone call, then at the sight). The managers don’t know the rules (always say different things). And the pool security guy was very rude and didn’t tell his name when we asked because we wanted to complain about him being rude to us (we could just take his picture). Conclusion: birthday spoiled. The room was comfy and clean. The beds were OK, maybe a little on the hard side. A queensize bed was prepared, even though two single beds were requested. We had to wait a while for the latter to be arranged upon our arrival. Housekeeping was thorough. The bathroom was large and all plumbing fixtures worked. There was considerable construction happening in front of the hotel, which kept me awake on the first night. The hotel provided earplugs to help drown out the noise.
