This hotel was available of the three or four within the park area. There is a shuttle bus which takes you to the Chimelong spaceship and the amusement park. I bought a ticket for the spaceship and thought it was also for the amusement park, so that might have been a translation confusion. I think the area in general is a bit overpriced, but I also think the value of the amenities at this hotel were better than the rest of the hotels. I still walked around the other hotels. It reminded me of back home and Vegas going to Circus Circus. There are really nice pathways to walk around as well as a boat ride. The views and nature spots are found everywhere.I only gave a four on the cleanliness because I feel that some of the furniture is older, and I don’t understand what’s going on with the empty parking lot space outside of the window. One thing I did notice was a water bottle which was not sealed. Easy to miss from housekeeping because the cap was on tight. Also, even though I got the twin room, I didn’t have any children with me. There should probably be some rooms that are geared towards adults only. I referred the hotel to some friends with children where I live, but I don’t think it was necessary to have children slippers and bath robes and bathroom supplies. The whole area is designed for families, but occasionally there will be a solo traveler. I chose this hotel because there was a full bar inside of it with entertainment, and that was great. The lounge staff were amazing and attentive, aling with the buffet staff. I am suggesting more Buffet items without pork/meat. I think all hotels in this area should go down in price by about 200 RMB. There are so many people working there that it’s surprising things like check-in lines, water facility, furniture wear and tear, or updated QR codes on room service cards can be updated. Adding some basic beverages in the refrigerator, or sugar sweetener with the kettle are things that a hotel room priced over 1000 should have. Aside, all staff were on alert, and so were the characters and toy sale people. The shops were good with neccessities/souviniers.Beautiful place, but i did not swim in the water world. I took the ferry into the port specifically to see the spaceship area, and that was a pretty neat place with the food street despite an over the top ICBC stage. The Chill House on the water is also 2.6km away, so i had three good meals and drink sessions in the area. Personally, I would do some special marketing advertisement towards school employees in neighboring cities so they can see the area for weekends and field...
Read moreHengqin Bay Hotel is more premium, adult and tranquil than Chimelong's other more mass market and child-focused Penguin or Circus Hotels. My parents and I had a flawlessly wonderful time. We were kindly upgraded into an Executive Suite on 19/F, and were thus extremely well taken care of in-person by their Elite Club team on 18/F. The Elite Club team helped us personally with all dynamic trip bookings, including Ocean Kingdom park, Circus entertainment and daily restaurant (breakfast, dim sum lunch) bookings, even ordering our 7-seater transfers to and from both Macau and Hong Kong. Their Executive Suites offered incredible ocean views from their expansive balconies, and I could wake up to sunshine through their sheer curtains, as well as the sound of bird calls and dolphins echolocating from the downstairs lagoon, while waking up in the morning in a giant bed, with spacious bathrooms and tub, study desk and living room. The room was well stocked with Arpeggio coffee capsules and a Nespresso machine, assorted Dilmah teas, electric kettle, both Western + Chinese teaware and bottles of mineral water. We were able to also take transportation, e.g. wooden canal boats and golf carts, to explore both fellow Circus and Penguin Hotel restaurants, and daily activities, e.g. circus performances, penguin experience buffet dinner. Their breakfast buffet was in a restaurant filled with aquariums, with a huge selection of Western and Chinese hot and cold options, as well as fruit. For lunch, we had delicate and tasty novelty dim sum, such as sea urchin soup wontons, with sunny panoramic views overlooking the hotel and ocean. The swimming pool areas were most crowded and chaotic with noisy children and parents renting floaties and playing in the foam party sections, but if you are just looking for a shady, quiet cabana for rest and relaxation, you were able to find that too in the side sections. We also enjoyed free afternoon teas with sandwiches, fruit, panna cottas and cakes at the 18/F Elite Club. You were also able to buy a wide selection of Chimelong Ocean Kingdom souvenirs and swimwear at the Hotel's retail stores. Altogether a lovely stay and guest experience, that went off...
Read moreFirst the good things: the hotel facility is good, it comes with a water world that is free for the guests that has a man-made beach as well as different pools for different activities, I am sure guest of all age groups can find something to do there. There are even slides indoor if it rains outside. As for the hotel compound it is huge with many rooms, you either get the pool/sea view or the not-so-interesting park/garden view.||||We got lucky enough to be upgraded to a suite which was spacious that came with a living room as well as a second toilet. There were 3 TVs (yep, the third one is in the bathroom while you enjoy your bath... though to be honest nothing much to see if you don't understand mandarin) Toiletries, as the others have mentioned are l'occitane and the room condition was still very good. You got a few bottles of water free so that should be sufficient for your stay||||Out of the 3 hotels, although this one is the furthest way, you can still reach the ocean kingdom by the free shuttle bus, walk or pay to take a boat to cruise through the "river", the shuttle bus only took a few minutes. ||||Now the not-so-good thing, and this is the only reason i am not giving a 5 star rating (despite that they have given my a free upgrade and late checkout!) is the dolphin pool. It seems each of the 3 hotels have a different theme. The penguin hotel has penguins inside the hotel and this one are the dolphins inside the hotel. I am sure many guests will "appreciate" the proximity to the dolphins (they even offer scuba-dive with the dolphins tour) I just feel sad to see them confined in such a small pool and they won't be able to swim much besides going back and forth around the pool. The dolphins are intelligent creatures and I am not really sure if they should be encaged in such a small area and each day they are just waiting to be fed at specific times. Same for the creatures in ocean world but that's another topic. If they really want to keep the dolphins there, at least let them swim in the "river", which is a lot larger with more "freedom" for them? ||||To be honest, I am sure the hotel will run very well even without the...
