Chimelong International Ocean Tourist Resort — Local services in Zhuhai

After hearing so much about Chimelong we decided to go and check it out. There were many many problems. The amount of people. We had to wait in line for hours just to go on a ride (regardless if it was small or big) and also for the animal exhibits. The poor, poor animals. Those animals were living in concrete painted to look like its habitat rooms. No ice/snow for the arctic animals. All the animals were going crazy walking back and forth because their enclosures were tiny. Their nails were over grown and because of the concrete floors they had trouble walking. All animals looked malnourished. Just disgusting treatment for the beautiful creatures. The park isn’t big. There aren’t a lot of rides for a price similar to a bigger amusement park like Ocean Park or Disney Land.

If you want to have fun and not feel bad about the animals go to Hong Kong’s Disney Land or Ocean park. Worth the money and time.

It’s an ok theme park but it’s a long way off Ocean Park or Disney. Some of the dining experiences were abysmal. Yum cha 1 morning took an hour and a half as they forgot half the order. Buying a kids meal was a massive ordeal as well with the restaurant staffed completely wrong and only 1 serving counter with half a dozen people poking around the food without actually doing anything. amazing place, copy disneyland and HK ocean park, then make it bigger and better, add china's best facilities and entertainment for kids and you have this. Very impressed by the shows as they are now more professional (I still don't understand how they train these animals). Food is not too great and pricey, so we ended up buying takeaway food, but no pickup from hotel lobby. Definitely recommend...
