Habitat Suites Hotel — Hotel in AMCO, Area Metropolitana Centro Occidente

Our second stay at this magnificent hotel (see review Feb. 2014). Look no further for a hotel in Pereira. We love the roominess of the penthouse suite. Last visit entertained the wife's family (25+) and this time duplicate event (25+) and the location and city views from the balcony add so much. The penthouse for a business person would be ideal to entertain clients or hold a function. It could accommodate 50 if need be is my bet.||The staff adds to your enjoyment. Front desk has Blanca and Leon Alberto. Environmental services has Martha and Astrid. All are exceptional at their job duties and would be 5 star employees at a Four Seasons or Oberoi Hotel location. || Original artwork by a local artist adorns the walls in the penthouse suite. Kitchenette helps with the meals. The breakfast is delicious and delivered to your room at the time you desire--printed slips allow you to choose your breakfast items and time of delivery. Wood, laminate flooring throughout penthouse suite. This hotel located in a nice section of town (Los Alamos) is near the main bus station, LA 14 mall and the technology university which is walking distance. Several restaurants are within walking distance as well. Try Ambar down the hill for a great meal.||Areas of improvement: Penthouse suite the toilet in second bathroom not working during our stay. Change it to a Toto, small model and problem solved. Also the blinds for the huge windows in living area have seen their better days and need upgrade. We spent just 1 night in this hotel when starting our week long tour of the Colombian Coffee region recently.||||We arrived by plane from Santa Marta and took a taxi to the hotel which was not too far and very inexpensive. We checked in at the desk at made the acquaintance of Fernando who explained everything to us - where to find the nearest restaurant and where to easily walk to the bus station to book seats for our journey to Salento the following day and so on. Fernando spoke more than adequate English and had Aurelio show us to our room near the top of the hotel.||||We were shown into the room and were pretty gobsmacked at what we found. It was enormous. NO, I really mean it, it was actually ginormous!||||It was a suite in fact, with a very sizeable sort of lounge area, containing an expansive desk with 3 - 4 chairs and multiple power points where guests could access the more than adequate internet service. There were also other chairs for more relaxed seating.||||The adjacent bedroom was even bigger, with a very large and comfortable king-size bed, a television and so on. The wall safe was very big and capable of housing everything we wanted to store in it with ease. Yes, our accommodations were very impressive for the modest price we had paid.||||Fernando and Aurelio proved to be very helpful to us and a fine breakfast was delivered to our room the following morning bang on time. Kettle or no kettle this is a pretty darn good place to hang your stockings at night. Who says kettle anymore, anyway???||Well seriously, wife and I have now logged in 3 extended stays at this hotel (total of 30 nights) and won't consider anyplace else. we love the penthouse suite which in US dollars is very reasonably priced. Spacious, fairly quiet, although street traffic can come the windows and great views of the city below. Located in a good neighborhood and close to the university and La14 shopping center, front desk will summon a taxi to the doorstep to get around town. What makes this a 5 star abode is the staff. Great service, friendship, and hospitality.Now wife is Colombian and fluent, so the language part we are cheating on, but the staff has almost become family to us. We also enjoy the breakfast that is included and delivered at our door, well in fact placed on the table on the veranda outside if we desire. Fresh fruit, coffee, croissant and eggs made to order.
