We stayed for 7 days at this hotel in the largest room they offered and we loved the room except we wish the AC would have cooled better. The worst part of the trip was the horrible breakfast experience everyday. The quality of the food was poor, the servers never had time to check on your needs because there was simply more customers than servers, breakfast always felt chaotic and unorganized. The buffet style eggs on the warming plates were always extremely wet; so we resorted to the omelet/ egg station for a better quality egg option, but they would cook the eggs the same way even after specifying how you would like them. The eggs were always undercooked and on top of that the lady making the eggs had a bad attitude when you requested anything from her. On the last day of our stay there I spoke to the restaurant captain to see if the service would improve by getting him involved and asked him to make sure they cook our eggs to our liking. When we got the eggs, they were cooked wrong again and full of blacks specs from a dirty pan. It was disgusting. They made the eggs again for a second time and some how they managed to leave them wet again. There was diligence to try to fix the issue, but the result was always the same, leaving us unsatisfied. Aside from the egg issue, the bread was stale and hard, the juice was hot and ice was hard to get, the different types of milks were not labeled, the coffee did not represent the great Colombian coffee. So we finally just left disappointed that not one day we had a decent breakfast there. We left the hotel with a bad taste in our mouth with that experience. My wife received an email days after we left so we could complete a survey and we explained everything in detail and so far we never heard back or received a response from anybody in Movich hotel group. Save yourself the headache and plan ahead of eating breakfast at another location.|A tip for the restaurant. I would rather pay for my breakfast and have good quality food. Than to have free breakfast and the food is horrible and and having to look for other options every morning.|Also don’t send out surveys or have your staff at front counter asking how our experience was if you are not going to do anything about it, when you get...
Read moreMultiple issues with water temperature in rooms, i had 4 rooms, paid for at the same time over 4 weeks. One room the water went from super cold to super hot within seconds over and over, causing my body to go into shock. I was locked within my own room , elevator keys never work, my air conditioning didnt work for a day in my other room, the laundry service is great, except they never bring a bag or paper for follow-up laundry for an extended stay customer like myself. I requested a manager THREE different times, i was denied. . . the hotel also stole a candle, yankee candle from my room and no one ever offered any compensation or sympathy nor empathy. So , if you're American, just know they discriminate, and in particular the lobby female staff stare at you with daggers in their eyes of resentment. And if you try to speak to a manager, you get ignored and denied. At one point they were ignorant enough, with my TV at 25 volume setting to complain at 2pm about noise, however, at 4am i wake up to the sound of young children not just playing, but screeching at a high volume. That being said a couple of the bellhops and two of the lobby reception staff were very kind....but for such a high level hotel to not have manager in a worldwide tourist hotel not understand English, kind of proves they trying to fill a quota instead of providing HOSPITALITY , which is what this is supposed to be for customers, and the industry. Oh, and for the high prices they charge, you would think that the keys would work, but every other day, you must go to the reception and get the keys set again, is just an incredible inconvenience and very low tech. Its a shame because, they discriminate. . . and its very obvious...
Read moreThis was my fifth trip to Pereira but the first time staying at the Movich. I can say that this was by-far the best stay I have ever had.||The location is perfect - close to everything you could need, connected to Plaza Pereira (a mall with shops and food court) and located directly on the popular Circunvalar. This is where you will find an endless array of restaurants, bars, cafes, coffee places and stores within walking distance of the hotel. Midway during our stay, we decided to extend our stay and book the Premium King room - this gives you access to the 9th floor VIP area with food, drinks, coffee and a very nice place to sit (and if you need to, work) away from your room.||Every staff member we met with was wonderful, but I MUST compliment and thank the security team who made every entrance and exit from the hotel safe. The area overall is safe, but there's always a few panhandlers. Twice while arriving at night, a panhandler came up to our car asking for change. Security was outside and removing the person within seconds. I cannot say enough about how safe we felt and how seriously the hotel overall takes guest security.||BIG shoutout to the breakfast buffet team, especially the young man who takes care of the egg/omelet station. I enjoyed speaking with him everyday and he always made our breakfast perfectly. Additionally, our waiter Robinson was always available to assist and ensure that we had a great experience.||We did not use the pool but the hotel has wonderful amenities: gym, pool, outdoor patio,...
