During my 10-day stay, I must say that I had a spacious, clean, and comfortable room. The bellhop reminded me of the kindness and simplicity of a good "paisa" from the coffee region, something that the younger generations should learn. However, I cannot say the same about the receptionist who greeted us. She was rude, arrogant, and didn't even introduce herself properly, unlike what good hotels usually do. She seemed disinterested and unresponsive when we asked her questions. My wife managed to control herself despite being on the verge of exploding due to this lady's attitude. As a Colombian, I wanted to show that kindness that sets us apart, but unfortunately, I only received the worst from your reception team. Although you have good facilities, it's not enough to make me want to return, as one seeks to be treated with respect and ethics. The kitchen staff is incredibly friendly, always ready to help with a smile. And let me tell you, the cleaning ladies are just amazing too! They bring such positivity with their smiles. On the downside, we were hoping for some days of relaxation after exploring the beautiful Eje Cafetero, but unfortunately, we were constantly awakened by loud noises coming from the 7th floor. Hoping they can address this issue soon. My strong recommendation is for you to improve your reception staff. Absolutely appalled by the lack of service and respect we received from your front desk staff. My wife and I felt humiliated and ignored throughout our entire stay. Unacceptable! Sadly, I won't be staying here for my...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I stayed at Hotel Soratama for a week in August, 2024. The stay was very pleasant. We had a double suite which was huge, modern and spotless. It had a huge TV that you could turn so you could watch it in bed or in the living room area. Nice big bathroom with a big tub and shower. It was perfectly quiet at all times. Never heard another guest since we were at the end of the hall. Staff were excellent in every way. ||The food at the breakfast buffet was great. Lots of juices and soups and eggs and meats and pastries. We are late sleepers and sometimes missed the cut off time for breakfast but for only $12 they would deliver all of it up to our room. That is $12 for both people, which is very reasonable. The restaurant at the top was fantastic. It has a view overlooking Plaza Bolivar and the rest of the city. The food was delicious and the staff were super professional. The Plaza was fun and safe at all hours and the streets around the hotel were full of interesting places to shop and eat. ||The only small issue was that being on the top floor, or maybe it was one floor down, the water pressure was not very strong. It was very strong in the shower, but not in the toilet or sink. We had a problem with the toilet and it was fixed very fast, but the problem came back again before we left. There were no English speakers at the front desk but they were very patient and we eventually understood each other with my intermediate Spanish. This will always be my main place to stay in Pereira and it is highly...
Read moreWe had reservation for 3 rooms, from 1 - 2 May 2021, because of the demonstration and widespread roadblock in Pereira, we couldn't arrive on 1st of May. Instead, we arrived on the early morning of 2nd May, planning to use the rooms to rest for a bit before heading to airport later that day.
Unfortunately, we couldn't even check-in, the receptionist refused the ID card of one of our friends (despite it's officially & legally issued by the Colombian Gov't), she adamant for passport, my friend doesn't bring his physical passport, but he have the scan of the passport with the last immigration stamp. She still said no. This is strange, because we've been to many hotels in Colombia but never had this kind of problem.
So we asked to speak with her manager, she said the manager was not there, then we asked to put the manager on the phone. We talked with the supposedly manager on the phone... still no dice, no good gesture, no solution.. even, they brought it up a notch by saying "we should stay in another hotel"
So we left, we check-in to another hotel and they received us with kindness, professionalism and without any issue.
Honestly, I regretted that attitude from Soratama, it is very rude, very hostile, and definitely not the way you speak with your guest. There's thousand ways to address the issue with good manner & professionalism... instead, they chose to go down the rudeness path.
It is a...
