As the name suggests, the Hotel Caseron Plaza is located in an old colonial building on Santa Fe's Plaza Mayor. Santa Fe can be hot so you may want a room with A/C. Rooms around the central courtyard have a Spanish vibe which I preferred to the resort feeling around the pool and jacuzzi located at the back. Our small, clean first floor room did not have A/C but thick walls and shade protected it from the heat and a ceiling fan was enough to maintain comfort. The large back deck is great for a cold beer at sunset. Monday to Saturday rates are a good value. Santa Fe's proximity to Medellin attracts hordes of weekenders and drives up prices. I recommend weekday visits. For a few dollars the in-house restaurant serves a breakfast or you can find something on the plaza. The Caseron does not accept credit cards. Read moreI stayed here with my girlfriend for one very pleasant night. The hotel is located in the main square in Santa Fe de Antioquia and is within walking distance to all the main historical attractions and restaurants in the town. The rooms are fairly basic but comfortable with air-con, small fridge, small TV and towels provided. The hotel has a very nice swimming pool and garden area with a deck with a very nice view. We were there on a Monday but I imagine the pool and outdoor area can get very crowded on weekends or holidays. There is also a nice restaurant on site with good food at decent prices, I imagine that too could be very busy at peak times. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and overall I would certainly...

The open-air restaurant facing the pool was very pleasant with a good menu. After a hectic Sunday afternoon full of people from Medellin, the place got perfectly quiet for the rest of the week. I hardly understand why some foreign visitors insist on coming on week-ends, against all guidebook travel advice: not only do they pay triple price, but more pitifully, since it's fully booked, they deprive a local hard-working family from enjoying a well-deserved week-end in this nice village. So I strongly recommend that place, but definitely...
