Hotel Monterrey — Hotel in Barranquilla

We felt like we won a price in the lottery. We only paid 30 dollars a night for a double room while friends paid way more at other less nice accomodations so I would say at first, really good value for money. Second the staff was super friendly, they helped us out with everything we needed, always smiled! The hotel looked very clean and the rooms where comfy with aircon, nice beds and shower, everything we needed! We where plesantly surprised by the huge breakfast and the rooftop swimmingpool! A very basic hotel but with friendly staff and in a very lively area. The staff were very helpful but the hotel itself has seen far better days. The rooms were clean and functional apart from the bathroom where there was no hot water and no shower head and just a single flow of water in the shower|Breakfast was also very limited and if you want to actually get some sleep bring ear plugs as the hotel is on top of a few loud bars|If you want a cheap place to stay this is fine but this would be a one or 2 star hotel in...

The room looked like it dated from the 80s. Bathroom was all crusty with flaky silicone. The shower was freezing and didn’t have a shower head, it was basically a fixed hose. Breakfast was absolutely disgusting, cheap overcooked eggs with week old fruits and a diluted orange juice. Oh and by the way, you don’t get apool either, you gotta pay for that!
