I realized the full address of the hostel was not provided on the listing I printed, which I should have checked. Our taxi driver had to call the hostel to confirm the address. Mario and I arrived at the hostel around 3 pm. ||||First thing we noticed was Nayibe the host was busy with other guests trying to get a room during carnival. Our room was outside the actual hostel. When we saw the room, to our surprise there was only one bed. I specifically asked for two beds which she assured online. Nayibe said she would put a sofa bed in the room which we agreed to. We kept going in and out of our room during the day and the bed still wasn’t there. We had to remind her and she said the extra bed would be put in before midnight. Luckily, she did put an actual single bed in the room instead of a sofa bed. ||||Our toilet did not flush properly and was missing the toilet seat and cover. We informed Nayibe of the toilet not flushing properly and she told us to use the one inside. That was a hassle because we had to leave our room and enter the actual hostel which was sometimes locked and we had to buzz to have the door open. In addition, the guest washroom inside the hostel didn’t have a door knob or lock? People can open the door while you’re taking a number 1, 2 or a shower: disgusting. ||||The shower was not cleaned because someone else’s chunk of hair was there. The bathroom sink barely had any water pressure. There was no hot water in the shower but that doesn’t matter because of the heat. The shower was more like a jet hose. ||The room was never cleaned or the garbage disposed of during our four-night stay. The room had a bad lingering odour. There was a drainage hole in the washroom which I believe the smell was coming from. ||||We left the door open sometimes to let the air circulate. An atomic-proof cockroach sneaked in and I killed it with a water bottle. The cockroach laid dead there for the whole four days we were there. It might possibly still be there. ||||The good thing with Nayibe is she helped us where to go during carnival and which areas are dangerous. Our room was right beside the carnival and stadium so location was good. She also helped us book a ride to Santa Marta. They did the laundry for me which I didn’t pay. She never asked for the money and she knew we weren’t satisfied with the service. Plus not all my clothes were dry when it was returned to me. Air conditioning was good in the room that was probably the best part. The Wi-Fi was horrible. ||||Previous hostels seems like a 5-star hotel compared...
