Hotel Suite Continental — Hotel in Barranquilla

A local friend recommended it because of the ample social areas; he had attended a conference there. It was late at night, so what the heck.||||The A/C didn't work properly, the room didn't have table lamps - under my insistence they brought an old and ugly one; but worst, the blackouts did not cover the whole window. The bathroom was ample and had a huge non-working Jacuzzi, the shower door did not have a holder, the sink had no place for our toiletries, the soap provided was of poor quality; no shampoo, only one stained towel. As soon as dawn, even without taking a shower, I walked to a nearby hotel - IBIS-, where all of the above were at least in decent condition.||||Then, I went for breakfast.. what a terrible experience: coffee sucked, tasteless fritters, stale bread, sour fruit. We stayed at this hotel during Carnaval 2016. It was hot during our stay and the AC was not working. It did not cool the room. It was not immediately recognizable, until we went into another room. When we mentioned it to the staff, they were rather unconcerned. They were mostly unconcerned about everything during our 4 day stay. The breakfast staff were friendly. The food was lousy. Today 02/06/24 at 2:10pm, arrived at this place, to obtain information on what the hotel and its rooms offer, but at the reception a miserable and unhappy person unwilling to talk or attend evaded my answers. I am a tourist, I come from the United States and I travel to Barranquilla all the time. but this hotel does not deserve a dollar, I want to remind you that based on edited Google photos it is not what they say it is, knowing that there is a lot of competition...
